Well idk what's going on? Factory freak?

Okay here's the deal i have an 2007 ss/sc and i just hit about 7,500 miles on it.

Im still only hitting 10 lbs. of boost!!! My car runs like a champ though!! some guys on the fourm think i have a factory freak cause it pulls sooo hard!! I raced a supercharged cavy last night with full bolt ons and i killed him from a dig, 20 roll, 15 roll, and 35 roll!

Im all stock by the way!

Cliff notes: only hitting 10lbs of boost, car has 7,500 miles, it pulls like a champ! so wtf?!?

Factory Freak?

any imput is going to help cuase im really confused

10lbs at peak?
or 10lbs when you punch it.

stock you will hit 10lbs instantly, but if you watch it closely, it will build to 12.5lbs at redline.

If not it could be numerous things.
Altitude, hot weather, lots of things can affect your boost.

not to mention, theres no garuntee that your boost gauge isnt borked by a few lbs.

The cavy driver sucks and you have a warped sense of fast?

lol j/k

Factory freaks do happen, only way to tell is throw it on a dyno and see what she makes!

what exactly does "pulls like a champ" mean? have you been to the track? what have you done besides pulled on a cavy?

10 lbs at redline! It was perfect weather last night about 80 degrees... my car was pulling hard as hell!

It just pulls super hard... idk how to explain it a couple other guys on this fourm have drove my car and nobody believes me that it's stock!

I beat a 94 stang gt with mods by like 5 cars from a dig and i do have video of it the kid is posting it tonight... Ive beat 1g talons with bolt ons, a couple slight modded GT's, wrx's, um a h22 del sol, a old civic hatch with a fully built all motor b18

stop racing on the street and go to the track or a dyno.

all of those kills tell us nothing about how your car is running.

Jump in my car for a spin, and i'll rearrange your face real quick, and put your sense of "pulls like a champ" back into perspective!

lol

Definitely, DEFINITELY, get the car to a 1/4 mile track. Or a dyno obviously.

The track would be more favorable, since you are seeing what YOU can do. The dyno is just telling you what the car does, and where it's really performing at.

I thought my old GT was a TOTAL factory freak, lots of buddies agreed. After I got it dynoed, it was down like 8HP from factory rating.... but responded really well to mods!

I would love to drive a cobra!! I bet i would ****... im only 18 and the cobalts the fastest car i've driving yet.... I jus can't wait for my dad's 1970 chevelle ss to get finished 550 hp and 530 ft lbs of torque on pump gas!!!

Yea i usually go to the track to watch but i've never ran it because i've heard it's really hard on your car... But then again im racing it on the street so i might as well run it at the track... haha

Yes im going to dyno it and i'll get back to all of you!! i was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice/info!!

Yeah it's definitely a different beast. Honestly though, the cobra has really F'ed up my sense of fast.

Everytime I get into my buddies VW GLI running 16lbs or boost, i feel like it's just peppy.

My cobra now is right around 500/500 to the crank, so yeah, it almost scars you, in a good way (unless you downgrade to a slower car lol)

My advice: Take it to the track.

You're beating on the car in a controlled environment, and for a 1/4 mile. Trust me, you car gets a lot more beating driving it on the street. The only thing that "worse" at the track is things breaking from hooking too hard since the good tracks are so sticky, and with everyone elses rubber thrown down, you'll hook like a psycho. But, i wouldn't worry about breaking anything, just take it and have some fun!

It's definitely addictive!

Heh , well, there's bound to be a ton of a car that's been in production since 1964 1/2!

I love mustangs though, but yes, there's A LOT of asshats that drive stangs, and usually, those are the guys who give dirty looks to other guys in mustangs LOL. You'd think driving the same car you wouldn't get stared down by some dipshit in a 5.0 or a 02 GT, but I do.

But yes, my buddies all take a cruise in my car and say it feels like a roller coaster lol.

I should be pulling 11's at the track, but honestly, I have daytona street tires that spin like hell, I need some nittos ASAP.

I'm just running 13lbs of boost, with exhaust and a short-throw.

I love boosted cars though, could NEVER go back to N/A ! Not now

yea i get alot of asshat mustang drivers that's for sure!!! there's a bunch of kids that went to my old high school that drive gts and they think there cars are the ****, but there all automatics and i beat all of them... now i know that my car is not the fasting thing around i've been stomped on by a couple cobras and built gts, but some mustang owners are dicks just like some cobalt owners are dicks!! It's nice to have a stang owner on here that's actually helpful and gives good advice!

What will you run with nittos? 10's? Damn only 13lbs, what can the stock internals hold?

That explains why you think you have a factory freek . If i hadn't ever driven anything faster than our SS/SC's i might think so too. These cars do pull decent for what they are .

Yeah, I downgraded when my 69 GTO, just over 450whp and 500w torque, cracked a connecting rod and spun a bearing. I didn't have money at the time for the engine I was gonna build, a 428ci bored and stroked to 469ci, so I bought the balt.

It has now been over a year since I blew up the GTO, and now I have really forgot what it feels like to run mid to high 12's on road hugger street tires. But now it is just months away from being together again. Here I come 10's.

OP- Your kill list isn't enough, get it to a dyno or a track. For example, I have beaten a B18 fully bolted and cammed 90 somethin accord (but the driver sucked) from digs and rolls, and I have also beat a B18 CRX fully bolted on the street 30 and 40mph rolls. So that doesn't mean a whole lot.

My summer Mustang made that power 2 engines ago, then it felt slow. The setup now is approx. 800 to the crank. That gets the heart pumping.

my car when it was stage 2 only was hanging with cobalts with more powerfull mods. one car had airbox mod, exhaust cutout, 2.79 w/60's and the tage tune. The other car had a CTI 3" catback, stage 2 with 2.8, K&N intake and maybe something else. The car with the tage tune could only get a bumper on my car.

I think that's kinda like my car... Does anyone know what makes cars either a lemon or a factory freak?? Or is that a mystery?

^ This is exactly correct.

Btw, you have no idea how fast you are inless you run at a 1.4th track. Good luck if you do. You should be able to pull of low 14s.
