thats the one I'm getting also whenever my stock clutch craps out. Still holding fine though with 50 passes on the track (18 with hoosiers) and 290+ whp at 23000 miles now. But I think the turbo swap next week is probably gonna put it out of comission

I don't know what happened to mine I only have 12800 miles on mine but when I ran at the track it just kept slipping. I had to go from first to third. I have never had this problem until last night. But that was the first time I took it out with the 60#s, downpipe and tune. The exedy looks like the clutch for me though.

im looking at getting a spec 3.
heard about a guy with a GTO who got a spec 3 warrentied by GM after his went out in early milage.

see, the only exedy clutch available is the one that comes with that steel flywheel...but I want really fast revs and the quick ass acceleration of an aluminum....so is there any clutch that I can mate to my 8.5 pound flywheel?

with a cobalt around 300hp or less

clutch slip = driver error.

im happy to say that with the full knowledge that the 1 out of a thousand people who ACTUALLY have honest to goodness clutch slip due to mechanical failure, instead of it being their fault....can feel free to flame me.

Seriously, almost 32k miles and my clutch still holds....poopy but holds 2.5 pullied since like 15 or 16k miles too. My friends clutch slipped on him at 7500 miles....then i watched how he drove and he was riding the clutch. Our clutches like rev matching and dont like to be slipped at all

But yes, exedy is probably the best..but most expensive $$$$$$

also... running your car on the track with a new clutch is a no no.... either you got a defective slave cylinder, or you need to learn how to drive stick a little better, only one kid around here had a problem with his clutch, and he drove like a retard

yeah we have a lot that come in with the clutch material completly gone and the metal digging into the flywheel and ****. i've seen 2 like that, and a bunch more that were burnt pretty bad. mine still pulls great with 14k on it. i just wanted to upgrade.

I am not a retard and I have been driving a stick for about 7 years straight with plenty of track time (not saying that you are calling me a retard). I have only had this car for a couple of months and seeing as I bought the car with 10500 miles on it I don't know how the previous owner drove the car. That being said, I could be the one at fault but I have decided that the clutch is fine on the street and never has any problems. I don't race at the track for any other reason than finding out if a specific part I installed (or tune change) actually gained me any more power. Also I realize now that I was trying to feather the clutch off the line, this is not a good idea. I was just trying a differant way of launching, I was wrong.

yeah I wasn't calling you one man.... just an example of some of the kids around here, and if you knew/saw them, you'd know what I was talking about.... and feathering the clutch is a very bad idea... glazes it over and hence the slipping. I dunno as I stated before... 23,000 miles of some pretty hard driving and mine has never slipped once. I doubt it will hold too much longer though...lol

Yea I know a guy up here with a stock ss/sc with a fart can. He can't drive to save his life. 15.5's at 90mph. But I learned my leason about feathering these cars deff won't be doing that anymore.

yeah, I launched @ 5K a few times before I started doing some 4K's then constant 2K drops and have run 53 times and am still on the stock clutch at almost 18K on my car. And am still running 13.9's. Hoping to change that pretty soon and hit the 12's.

Exedy combo, don't worry about an aluminum flywheel, keep the setup as its proven to work.

my clutch slips and like i said it only has about 1000-2000 miles on it. ive drove a standard since i was 15, and my boyfriend has as well, with years of track experience. neither of us understand why it slips.
im not too dense on the idea of how to drive, or the mechanics, i just wonder why the hell my clutch sucks so bad with less than 300 hp.
