what did I break?

Hello,

This is going to sound dumb but could someone please tell me what this is? I already know I'm in trouble because it's not spinning while my motor is running.. Sigh. I'd like to know what it is though. Thanks.

Looks like A/C compressor

I'm about 99% sure

And it's normal not to spin all the time.

See the special mechanics on the side of it?
That's a clutch.

It only spins when you have the Air Conditioning on.

Hmmm.. well I dunno then. When I'm at WOT my boost gauge goes up to 10-12 then drops down to about 5. I have the 76mm pulley on there with stg 2. I figured it made sense when I looked under the hood and it looked like the belt was slipping over that pulley and it wasn't spinning.

I wonder what else my problem could be then. Thanks for the info.

start your engine

turn on your ac to max cool with the fans on full

if it turns then you're ac is fine. and you have a new problem with only boosting 10 psi with a 76 mm pulley

OK thanks everyone. I didn't know what it was and it's been riding a little rough this week so I've been paranoid about every little thing i notice. I read all these threads about people's cars breaking and blowing up lol. Must be in my head.

You were all correct. It came on when I turned on my A/C.

I swapped my stage 2 pulley back in and everything seems to be fine. I wasn't losing boost at all. I'm guessing it was the way I was driving it when I noticed that with the 76mm. Please don't ask. I'm embarrassed enough.

Thanks for the quick answers!
