Curious to what a "good" cold air intake will add in boost to a stock cobalt ss s/c???

Also, what's the s/c's stock boost psi, I'm thinking like 12.5???

Yes about the only time you will see a slight increase in boost is at colder temps not related to the cai though.

I worded that wrong. In saying a less restrictive filter would allow a smaller amount of air, I meant to say a small increase in air vs. a large amount of air gain. A CAI should allow more air to be sucked and pushed into the engine. If I were to upgrade the exhaust system, then my boost psi should drop do to less restriction in the system. But just doing a cold air intake allows for more air introduced to the engine with no greater escape out the exhaust thus producing greater restriction or "boost". Is this still not correct?

So a colder temperature provides much denser air, but how would this raise boost?? If anything wouldn't it lower boost??? For example when you run meth injection you are cooling the air and lowering the boost right....

awww jeez you guys are confusing me....I need some sleep.

Your incorrect. The only thing that will change your boost on a supercharger is a pulley.

Yes that is true that is a restriction to your system there for you will make less boost but more power generally.

boost does not equal power, remember that.

Also, methanol injection does not effect boost, just lowers the iat2's down slightly.

cai wont increase boost, full exhaust will decrease boost because its less restrictive.

boost does not equal power yes I know this. So if you are running 10 psi and install a meth injection running 50/50 ratio you will still be running 10 psi??

Also, your saying headers which reduce restriction lower boost, but a CAI which induces greater air intake will not have the opposite effect???

What is the cobalt's stock boost?

Exactly! Thats why a ported head will yeild less boost on the same size pulley.
