If i remember, the 2.8 on stock stage 2 gave about 15whp and 20wtq or there abouts.

the good thing is though, its a nice gain over the whole powerband so it really pulls nice all the way through.

i say go with 60's , your injectors won't be stressed with a 2.9 , and you can run a 2.8 safely .

What is making you shy away from 60's? W/ a good tune it will run the same as a car with 42's only it will be able to be given more power.

2.9 + Hub
42's
Stage 2 Belt
Tuning

If you ever plan on going any lower in pulley size i would suggest you go with 60's from the start. Also do not go with the GM hub. Get yourself a ZZP or Intense hub. The lowest size pulley you can go with on the GM hub is a 2.75 i believe. The bolt pattern on in restricts anything smaller.

^^another good point.

since your not going GM stage 2.
dont accept any of its limitations.

theres always the chance you will want to go bigger later, so dont chose something that will hold you back in future

Get the 60s. They're right, you'll be overloading the 42.5s at WOT just a little, but a little is more than none at all. Plus, if you want to go smaller again in the future to a 2.7 or 2.8, you'll need to upgrade to 60s anyway. Play it safe, it's not going to hurt to get bigger injectors.
