What to do/use?

I have the ZZP header/dp combo catless and the GMPP performance exhaust. Its a little too loud for me. What should I use to quite it down some? If I get a resonator, what is a good one? I want it to sound like I have an exhaust, just not a very loud one. Can someone help me out here?

Get a DP with a cat. That should make it less raspy.

I understand that. I guess your only option is to have two resonators along with the muffler.

What if you could find some guy with a GMPP touring exhaust to trade you his muffler? That might be an option.

You should have kept your cat. Maybe you can find someone on here to swap with.

If I did dual exhaust, would it change the sound a lot?

only if you put a second muffler or resonator it might, otherwise it may make it louder. Larger Flow Area = Louder, in most cases. Think of it like a megaphone except instead of one large area, you have 2 dual smaller areas.

I have the same setup you have and I love it. I can understand why you say its too loud tho. Its not something everyone likes. I would say get another res put in.

yeah, with a full (straight through) 3" w/ header and no cat, my car sounded like the worlds biggest chainsaw. It seriously hurt my ears when i went full throttle and had my windows open. Not what i call a good thing. It was only good for scaring the hell out of people and getting the cops on my ass.

I might just buy the ZZP resonstor, I just wanna know how much it will kill the sound. I heard a SRT-4 go by me yesterday and it sounded very nice. I wish I could get my car to sound liek that.

Do you recomend using this in addition to the stock resonator or using just this one?

Hahaha its gonna take more than a resonator to sound like an srt-4.You can start with a turbo first, lol.Resonators dont kill the sound, they make the exhaust less raspier which makes it sound deeper.I would never run an exhaust without a resonator cause i know it will sound like ****.Esp on a 4 cyl.

Im not trying to get my car to sound like an SRT-4, I just like the way they sound for a 4 banger. I think, if I have room, I will add the zzp resonator with the resonator that comes with the gmpp exhaust. Hopefully that makes it sound a little better.
