What do you prefer 06 or 07

Choosing between a 06 or 07 Cobalt SS/SC with the following specs. Which would you guys choose? These are the major factors I see, but what would you guys choose with yourknowledge of the 07s in comparison to the 06s.

2006:
Limited Slip Differential
Recaro Seats
3-year/36,000 mile warranty
$20,500

2007:
Regular seats with red inserts
10-year/100,000 mile warranty
$20,500

Im kinda leaning towards the 06 too because of recaro's and LSD but the 07 has the warranty which is always extremely nice. As far as performance go Im sure everyone would say 06, but for both performance AND resell/warranty, what do you guys think would be better?

Both are brand new by the way ^^^

well...in some respects and depending what you plan on doing to the car the warranty sucks. if you plan on modding dont worry about the warranty.

i would go for the 06 and try to get that price down a bit...the cars a year old now...with or without g85 you should be able to get that down. 20,500 out the door maybe.

isnt the warranty 5 years/100k miles? so unless you do a lot of travelling theres only a 2 yr warranty difference.

3 yr/36,000 mile Bumper-to-Bumper
5 yr/100,000 mile Drivetrain

And don't let the dealer try to tell you the supercharger isn't covered under the drivetrain warranty. It is.

The 06 SS/SC has a 5 year / 60,000 mile power train warranty , 3/36 bumper to bumper. Doesnt the 07 have 5 year 100,000 mile POWERTRAIN warranty and 3/36 bumper to bumper? Not too big of a difference imho

If I were you I'd go with the 06 for the following reasons:

$20,500 for an SS S/C with LSD & Recaros is a steal.
Resale wont matter much or at all when the time comes because it is a domestic vehicle.
You can always upgrade to an aftermarket deck with 6-CD, aux input, etc etc and more.

The only reasons I can see for you to get the 07 are if you want the 6-CD changer from the factory (assuming they so equipped it), and maybe the new wheels.

Go for the 06!

06 ... with G85 for 20,500 is a great deal... an the LSD is a good performance option with the Recaros....makes it a little more unique

I've heard that some may prefer the newer style (07) radio though

I paid 20,700 for mine (Black 06 - G85/XM/sunroof - no OnStar or side airbags)

07 Still has Stage kit issues & since it's using 32-bit processing HPT cannot fully utilize that capability yet. Also, the storage space on PCM is smaller then on 06 model.

I would go with the 06. Sounds like a better deal.

Get the 06, but tell the dealer to suck a dick on the $20,000 part. The 06 is a much better machine because of the LSD, and the Recaro seats are pretty kick ass.

Recaros rock but i like the steering wheel and radio with aux input on the 07. But if you get the 07 you need to get the lsd. These cars are brutal without it.

I would have to agree on the stearing wheel controls they suck in the 07 I hate mine just easier to us the sterio knob. Buttons are to small as for warrenties the anything over 3\36 is going to be drivetrain only and 3 to 4 years from now it might be hard to get them to fix anything if it has mods! (Due to exessive stress from increased horsepower that th mods give!) But thats just my thought!

You asked...

"Doesnt the 07 have 5 year 100,000 mile POWERTRAIN warranty and 3/36 bumper to bumper?"

.... right after I posted the fact that it does.

That makes about as much sense as wiping your ass before you take a ****.
