Warrantied and it's not bad for something from the factory. But really the only up is the warranty stuff. It's really how the car should have came stock.

Stage 2 is only good for 10 whp? That doesn't sound like much at all, for the cash and pain

I think they meant 10hp out of tweaking the stage 2 tune to have better A/F ratios?

Actually 15 more WHP has been gotten by tweaking stage2. And the A/F ratio's and knock retard has also been smoothed out from tweaking.

GM stage2 is certainly an improvement over the stock setup. But if you plan on going further in performance (pullies, injectors) down the road, don't waste your money.

I bought my o6 ss/sc in August of 06. Had my stage 2 kit installed in September of 06. It really is a completely different car. I absolutely love it. There are other stage kits out there that can give you more power, but unless you happen to have an extra $4000 lying around to buy a motor when it blows up, then the GM stage kit is definately the way to go. I would highly reccomend purchasing an engine torque dampner prior to buying any stage kit though. Once you up the power, you cannot get on it until you hit 2nd gear due to massive wheel hop. Buy the torque dampner, GM Stage 2 kit and a cold air intkae (I recommend AEM) and you will be on your way. I just installed the GM stage 3 pulley on mine and I love it.

I'm really happy with my Stage 2 kit. It all depends on what your goals are with the car though. I just wanted a bit more power while not having to worry about warranty since this is my daily driver.

stage two is not worth if you plan on modding heavy in the end .. if your going to go light and have fun then by all means do .. but dont spend the money if your wanting more power than 250hp.. many people on here are switching over now cause they want more power.. all comes down to want you want and how you want to use the car

Haha, I like the Should have came stock argument it is the truth. I just got mine installed and damn. It is like a new car, much faster. This is the first time that I have really started to mod a car at all, so I am taking baby steps. I figure I'd do the GMPP setup to start with while I am still getting a feel for it all. Later on, I might go more aggressive and replace some/all of the stage 2, but it wont be for quite a long time. and if I do, it wont bother me, because its just a step.
This might work for some people, and it might not for others.

And, yes, you will need a torque damper. Ingalls in the next thing on my list.

They all said it. You want warranty, GM s2 all they way. If you plan on going hardcore, save your money and go aftermarket kits. I for one love the kit! Now just need to get it tuned! Maybe later on get a meth kith... but that will be awhile

I am still contemplating going with GM Stage 2 and get the S3 pullley, faster boost and a lil more boost. GM can't tell the difference, the pulley sizes are so similar. I just gotta decide if I really want that more power. I only autocross, so I gotta a problem hooking up already.

So, how exactly should you tune it, and who could tune it (would you need to take it to a shop). I'm a huge car enthusiast and I'm on here everyday, but only posted a few times because I'm not very engine savvy. Let's just say I was more than proud of myself for putting my own intake on.
