What header gasket?
With your after market header what gasket are you using when you install it? I have asked in a couple other posts but got no answer. I am going to install mine in a week and need to know what to use. Thanks

my zzp header never cam with a gaskket

my weapon-r didn't come with a gasket, i bought some heavy duty mr. gasket, gasket material from amazon.com which has the metal layer in it.
Mr. Gasket 5961 Ultra Seal Exhaust Gasket Material got a 6x24 inch sheet and cut out the holes with a dremel, i don't know how well it will work yet. Cost about $20 including shipping, but theres enough material to make 2 header gaskets if you mess one up. |
Most likely you can use your existing gasket, or just buy a replacement from the dealer.

the shop had to order me one

The stock gasket looks so F*CKING cheap. I figured there had to be a better one.

Most guys are good with reusing the stock gasket. I didn't want any issues, so I just picked up a OEM replacement from Napa.

SCE copper gasket that came with my CTI header is what I used. The stock gasket ports are not big enough for the larger diameter primaries on most headers.

will the GMPP Honed Manifold Gasket work?
bumpity bump |
The GMPP Honed Manifold Gasket is the same exact gasket as stock, i bought one and compared them. Like 2K5SS/SC said, the primaries on most aftermarket headers are bigger than the stock gasket. It may not matter because the exhaust exits from the head aren't any larger, so it will still fit the engine and probably won't inhibit exhaust flow.
