If you didn't want this kind of news you should have spent less money on neons and more on 60# injectors a 2.7-2.8 pulley, a heat exchanger, meth, and a good tune. You'd be about a second faster than you are now.

he is right. Go expecting high numbers. I went to the track for the first time expecting to hit high 13's for my first time ever...friends told me to set a different goal so i side mid 14's and i hit 14.4 @ 103mph. Issue at 3500 caused that...lol

And once again. Even though I'm the ******* bearer of bad news.........I was right.

Still think I was being a dick? Or just honest?

I quote myself:

The important part is to be realistic about what you have and work on the driving aspect. Don't focus too much on bringing the ET down 'per sey'. Instead, try and think about little mistakes you make in shifting and clutching as you're coming off the line and going from 1st to 2nd (critical shift) and from 2nd to 3rd.

You probably won't get much better than a 14.5

I ran 14.498@99.8 stock w/ airbox mod. Maybe you should think about getting a tune.

How do you know it has nothing to do with the tune? There are way to many variables in drag racing to say that without seeing a timeslip. Although almost 100% of the time it ends up being the person behind the wheel getting the slow time, there is no sense in cutting someone down for it.

Your quarter mile fate is decided at the launch. Street tires can throw down 2.0-2.1's. Anything higher then that and you just can't launch. My buddy with stock pulley car, can pull 2.1 60's on bald Pirelli's.

It also depends on the track though too. Between norwalk and 42 my best 60' was over a tenth better at norwalk. If i even hit full throttle at 42 i spin first gear, but at norwalk i have to NLS into second or my car will bog its so damn sticky

LoL how often do you go to the track? 2.1 Is awsome w/ street tires. I try for 2.0's with my 26" tall DR's.

Bald street tires....lol. All my friends can pull 2.1 on street tires because I taught them how to launch. I tried to teach people here, but everyone bashes my method. Oh well.

Same guy was pulling 1.9's on DR's. I think he can do 1.8's on DR's yet.

It was my launch. It sucked ass. That was the first time I have ever even took a car even worth taking. On my fastest pass my R/T was .841. Thats damn near 1 sec. So I am happy with my time for know and I need alot of practice. Thanks all for the advice. and to the guy who called him self a DICK no thanks.

Ouch. As already asked, what are your 60 ft. times?

I think I have done like 3, 2.1 60 footers in this car on stock rubber and each time I managed to screw up my shift points between 2nd and 3rd. Sucks for me. I wish it was as simple as he makes it sound to crack 2.0-2.1 60 ft. times in this car.

If you have a good launching technique it should be repeatable.

My technique is good enough to net 2.2 60s constistantly. I do not know what I did differently when I managed the 2.1s I pulled. To me it seemed as if nothing was different until I saw the slip.

Pretty much just releasing the clutch and applying the throttle gradually through 1st, trying not to ignite the tires. I usually go to 28 psi up front and 35 psi in the rear.
