My friend is about to get a stock 2001 cobra convertible...(n/a)...what are my chances of beating him or hanging ...i have a 2007 ss/sc g85, with airbox mod and gmpp sport catback exhaust...i am getting stage 2 and nates 2.9 pulley before he gets his car...what you guys think??

01 Cobras run mid to low 13's.. stock of course. You will probably run high to mid 13's, so my guess would be a drivers race. Hope he ***** up in the 60' haha.

if u get 2.7 pulley hell of a tune and 60lbs injectors yea i raced my friends cammed full exhaust and ls9 head- ss camaro from a 40 roll and we were close. but he also had a high stall in his car

 

my buddy has a 01 modded. Its a hard top 6 speed mods are drop in filter, sts, h pipe, catback, nittos, underdrive pulllies, i think thats it his car clicked off 12.90's at 107 at a shitty track.

He ran a friend with a 2.7 pullied balt 3" exhuast all the way back, cai, but on a gm stg2 tune and 60#'s and they were dead even.

and when the cop pulls you over what do you think he will give you a ticket for speeding becuase real racing happens at the track. i hate when people say that bullshit if you go froma dig you prove experience AND DRIVER SKILL NOT WHO'S CAR IS FASTER

Most likely the LS9 heads are just L92/LS3 heads. The LS9 is a supercharged version of the 6.2L engine so the heads are very likely to be the same. But even so, to run those heads he would have to have at least and LS2 engine in his car or a resleaved block.

Oh and to the original poster, you have a chance. I have driven a 98 cobra convert, wasnt very quick. Had exhaust, intake and 4.11 gears and we were dead even with and 01 GT with exhaust.

 

If he is stock your chances are pretty good actually. With a good and i mean good driver you will only hit 13.5 in the quarter with a 105 trap. Ive ridden in a few 01 cobras and I owned an 03 cobra for a lil over a year and wow what a difference that supercharger makes. The 01 will be a fair fight no doubt about it but I do believe you have a very strong chance especially from a roll.

I have to agree I go to the track to improve my own timings, occasionally I will race another driver.

 

Convter cobras are heavy... and i know the NA cobras trap 104-105mph...
