The aftermarket is not really small there are a good amount of options that he could go if he could spend money.

Meth would be a good idea... then maybe consider Option B, Dual pass, Motor Mounts (not for power), 2.7 and a custom tune, some exhaust, Short throw shifter, etc. The possibilities are endless, but remember you have to pay to play!

And what exactly do you think you are going to do with a Honda...

Newsflash: Hondas are slow economy cars.

my point being, if you want an exhaust thats awesome quality but dont want to spend too much, go to mandrelexhaustsystems.com. i bout a 2.5 inch magnaflow cat-back with a 5x8 muffler and 18 inch resonator. its all stainless steel, moral of the story...i paid $440 brand new and shipped!! now im not saying you have to stick with magnaflow. you can choose any muffler you want and they'll weld it up. here's a video for reference.

and here's a link directly to the cobalt page on the website

hope this helps

yea when they are stock.

how many all motor cobalts have you seen that can run low 12's?
this is VERY easy to achieve in a honda.
i think that the fastest is even like 9 secs all motor.

i'm not a guy who is all about hondas, but they deserve more respect than they get.

you are both right. they are slow grocery getters. but thats fine take a car thats 15-25 years old that was tiny didnt weigh anything and drop a new highly modified engine in it. then take out every ounce of weight you can find and its really easy to get in the 12's, and spend alot of money doing it.

get a sstc cobalt tune it and youve got a 12 second car. you dont see alot of people on this site doing incredible 1/4 times because of a few reasons. people on here dont want to spend money on the car other than a few boltons. these arent made for the 1/4 they are road racing cars in there prime. most people are still paying them off, converting them to a track car is not a great option.

there are fast cobalts. 7's all the way up to my 28second 1/4 we cover a huge slot. (long story broken pipe)

alright but at the same time..spend 20k on a cobalt and spend 4k on a honda. then spend say 5k on parts and i would put it against a sstc. and my friend just dropped $500 on a new engine and put it in for another $100. that's not a lot of money.

on a side note, i would rather have a ss/tc but i'm just stating the fact that hondas can be fast for cheaper.

yes but you are looking at getting an old car vs buying a new car...

get an old cavilier for 400 bucks and drop an lnf in it... i bet it goes fast.

now try it out the other way around get a new civic for 28k or a new tc for 23k... now spend 500 bucks on the tc and you are easy 12 sec car... spend 4k on the civic for a turbo kit and you are an easy 12 sec car... see where im going with this.

plus when the honda does finally get fast it is HIGHLY modified put the SAME money in mods into a tc and a honda and then see who is faster.. so I do not agree that you can make them faster for cheaper

ok but you missed the point.
you spent 20k on a brand new tc. i'm talking about buying an old honda and spending 5k on it and you would be under 15k total budget.

all i'm saying is that cobalts will never be as established in the aftermarket parts world as hondas. that's a fact.
