what next for power?
what next for power?
alright so story of our lives i keep doing more and its still not fast enough lol. need opinions on what to do next. 06 ss/sc with k&n typhoon, zzp stage 3 with 2.8 and stage 1 h.e.(i know i know lol) zzp mid length header and 3" catted dp, stock exhaust with magnaflow muffler, 2 step iridiums, royal purple oil, ignalls t.d. so i dont wanna spend alot right now so exhaust is out, and no nos, so what next? cooling upgrades? 2.7? dual pass int. plate? is the tbs from ca or zzp worth it? n e who you know the say opinions are like... lets here them thanks guys
Meth would be a good idea... then maybe consider Option B, Dual pass, Motor Mounts (not for power), 2.7 and a custom tune, some exhaust, Short throw shifter, etc. The possibilities are endless, but remember you have to pay to play!
my point being, if you want an exhaust thats awesome quality but dont want to spend too much, go to mandrelexhaustsystems.com. i bout a 2.5 inch magnaflow cat-back with a 5x8 muffler and 18 inch resonator. its all stainless steel, moral of the story...i paid $440 brand new and shipped!! now im not saying you have to stick with magnaflow. you can choose any muffler you want and they'll weld it up. here's a video for reference.

nope dont know rusty and will. budget isnt bad but i dont wanna spend the money cause its going to my quad.what meth kit do you guys rec? i wanna dyno tune but dont know where in so cal... short throw and dual r in for sure eventually, plus its my girls car so i dont wanna get to too crazy, i got a titan on 35's that will run high 13's : )
how many all motor cobalts have you seen that can run low 12's?
this is VERY easy to achieve in a honda.
i think that the fastest is even like 9 secs all motor.
i'm not a guy who is all about hondas, but they deserve more respect than they get.
yea when they are stock.

you are both right. they are slow grocery getters. but thats fine take a car thats 15-25 years old that was tiny didnt weigh anything and drop a new highly modified engine in it. then take out every ounce of weight you can find and its really easy to get in the 12's, and spend alot of money doing it.
get a sstc cobalt tune it and youve got a 12 second car. you dont see alot of people on this site doing incredible 1/4 times because of a few reasons. people on here dont want to spend money on the car other than a few boltons. these arent made for the 1/4 they are road racing cars in there prime. most people are still paying them off, converting them to a track car is not a great option.
there are fast cobalts. 7's all the way up to my 28second 1/4 we cover a huge slot. (long story broken pipe)

on a side note, i would rather have a ss/tc but i'm just stating the fact that hondas can be fast for cheaper.

alright but at the same time..spend 20k on a cobalt and spend 4k on a honda. then spend say 5k on parts and i would put it against a sstc. and my friend just dropped $500 on a new engine and put it in for another $100. that's not a lot of money.

get an old cavilier for 400 bucks and drop an lnf in it... i bet it goes fast.
now try it out the other way around get a new civic for 28k or a new tc for 23k... now spend 500 bucks on the tc and you are easy 12 sec car... spend 4k on the civic for a turbo kit and you are an easy 12 sec car... see where im going with this.
plus when the honda does finally get fast it is HIGHLY modified put the SAME money in mods into a tc and a honda and then see who is faster.. so I do not agree that you can make them faster for cheaper

pics of car and titan

u have a cool gf, she drives a cobalt ss sc
yes but you are looking at getting an old car vs buying a new car...

yea i get what you're saying
lol, lnf in a cavi...that thing would do work for sure.
you spent 20k on a brand new tc. i'm talking about buying an old honda and spending 5k on it and you would be under 15k total budget.
all i'm saying is that cobalts will never be as established in the aftermarket parts world as hondas. that's a fact.
