What octane gas?

I have a fully stock 06 SS/SC, what gas should I put in it? The reason I ask is because I looked at the dyno sheet from the article just posted on the main page and it seems to have lost power going from 91-94 octane? Ive been putting nothing but 93 in it... is that wrong?

GM reccomends 91+, so youre doing good with 93.

Does anyone have a station in their area that has 91 octane? There is only 87 89 93 available here.

Should be have an octane rating of at least 91. It is safe to run an octane of 87, though there will be a noticeable power loss.

Yeah 92 sucks. I am going to miss 94 octane so much when I move to Kansas. Keep using 93.

Running 94 here.. have been since my first tank. Man it go's fast... perhaps that is due to my led foot and a new car.

haha thats so many different nozzles to choose from! jeez, the pump must be as long as your car...exaggeratingly speaking.

I run 93 usually but sometimes 89....89 is fine considering I raced an r32 on it and still won...can't be too much of a power loss.

LMAO!!! An 871 blower would stick like 2 feet out of the hood! Not to mention it would surge like a ****, 500 to 1000 and back to 500 all day long!

Is it possible that I get MORE miliage with Octane 89 than 91?? Maybe I'll try 94 next week, but I find ever since i started putting 91, it drains much quicker than 89. About the power issue, I just notice I hear the "whine" of my sc a lot more.... AND I LIKE IT lol... but seriously, I find miliage is better with Petro-Canada 89 than 91... bope, maybe just me... i dunno, let me stop rambling now lol...

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the power is the same, i find... Not a big gain... Something I'm doing wrong? LOL Maybe I should pump gas with my other hand

What Octane?

Read you owners manual, that should have the recomended octane ratings in it for your vehical. I'm running 87 in mine but thats cause I've got a dead stock LS. Failing that I'd run nothing less than 89 in an SS, and always the highest grade in the SS/SC that you can find.

91+ is also recommended for the 2.4 as per GMs website.

http://www.chevrolet.com/cobalt/specifications/

Cobalt SS and SS Supercharged engines will operate with 87 octane unleaded fuel; however, a noticeable power loss will be felt by the driver.
