What should I do next?

I have a 2007 SS/SC with the following mods:

GM Stage 2
2.9" pulley
Cold air intake
Heat exchanger
DynoMax muffler

What does everyone think I should get done next;

2.8", 60's and a tune
or
header/downpipe?

I have pretty much the same setup and I would say definitely do a full exhaust (header, dp, catback) and then I would do the 2.8 with 60's and a custom tune. Just doing that will really help the car out since the GM Stage 2 tune (especially with a 2.9 on there) SUCKS and your injectors are going static up top with the 42's.

That's pretty much my plan although I might port the sc and tb, do a 2.7 and run meth.

The thing is... I'm not sure about a full exhaust because I don't want my car to be really loud. Would it be pointless to get a header/downpipe if I'm going to keep the stock cat-back/resonator?

It would probably help you a little bit, but it'd be fairly pointless having a pretty free-flowing header/dp going into our restrictive as hell stock catback. I have the Vibrant header/dp combo with the GMPP sport catback, and honestly, it's not too loud if you're just cruising and driving normal. But if you stomp it, it gets pretty loud. It's actually the perfect balance for me. Honestly, if you're going to do anything exhaust-wise though, start with a new catback and then go from there. If you're really worried about sound but want to do a full exhaust, stick with a catted dp. If you go catless it's loud as hell, believe me haha

i agree, i have a catless downpipe and gmpp header on a magnaflow catback and its LOUD. i mean LOUD. if you want to for some reason still stick with stock catback for popo issues, do a electric cutout on the downpipe and when you go to the track or what have you you can open it up.

So for now I'm thinking of getting the ZZP mid length header/dp combo. If i get a catted dp and leave the stock resonator in the exhaust, do you think it will be a whole lot louder?
