What upgrades/mods to get

Well i just purchased me a 2007 Cobalt SS S/C... And I am wondering what to do with it... It will be my daily driver.. But I'm going to be a student so i don't have a whole lot of money but would like to buy a mod here and there... But today on our way home from driving it(bought it from a dealer auction) the clutch started to slip and when i down shifted it wouldn't shift... and then when i got home it wouldnt' shift into any gear unless it was off then when i shifted it and then started it...it would fly forward and die. So its getting towed to a dearlship since its barely under warranty stil to get fixed...And i was jw what to have done on it when i get back...I'm going for hp...not sound or anything..maybe some looks but mostly power upgrades...

Any comments are helpful! Thanks.

Guess the question is how much money you willing to spend lol ... intake or exhaust is usually a good place to start.

ya lol well i'm prolly going to spend maybe a thousand total? Not all at once..Do you have any good sites? I think i'm going to get a CAI and then instal a new exhaust system including headers...but i heard you can't tune them because they are tuned already with the sc and all

a good exhaust system header back + CAI will be over 1000 and thats if you do all the install your self even. Your not exactly tuning the "header", you are tuning your car for the added flow. You will gain more with a tune. Last thing we only have one "HEADER" not multiple headers

and for a thousand bucks, best bang would be OTTP stage 1 kit, GMPP touring catback , Cooling Mist Methanol kit, and CAI if you can add a little more funds

Ottp stage 1 $209 http://www.ottperformance.com/store/...-Kit-4p258.htm
GMPP exhaust 565 http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P1382C146.aspx
Cooling mist stage 1 225.00 https://www.coolingmist.com/pagedisp...ey=gasvehicles

Start with mounts and cooling before you even think about adding power.

Haha good suggestion. Why would he need to cool for parts that he doesn't even have? If he is going to spend $1000 he isn't going to need big time cooling and mounts cause he isn't going to be creating anymore power and his $1000 will be spent. An intake and a simple stg.1 kit would be perfect for the guy!

My recommendations:
CAI or air box mod (much cheaper)
OTTP stg.1/ or 2 kit
and if you have a little extra money kicking around some exhaust is a good idea!

THEN anything further I would suggest cooling (never a bad idea) and maybe mounts.... trust me at this point you have spent your $1000

Ya i would of got a better clutch kit and all but the dealership is fixing it for free so why not let em... I would like to do things that don't void my warranty and won't affect the life of my car... Maybe like stage 1 maybe 2 at the most...I was also wondering can a dealership upgrade you to like stage 1 or 2 because i know a guy who got his from the factory stage 2 from gm and i didn't know how that worked... But thanks for all the comments and help!

Yes a dealership can upgrade you to stage 1 or 2 and it will not void your warranty as it is a gm product. Back when they first came out I had my dealership install stage 2 on my car, which that stage 2 has long been gone lol.
