Last night i was at the track and on my second run i launched at about 2k rpm and i hit second clean but at about 5k rpm it felt like i hit my rev limiter and then popped with a cloud of black smoke and then my car shut off. I coasted all the way through the finish line and barely made it off the track. When i tried starting it again it started but it stuttered then popped and shut off again, it did this for about 5 min and then started and ran fine. I did not run it anymore last night and it seems to be running fine but i was just wondering what went wrong and if anybody had an idea.

PCM freaked out. It happens to these cars for some reason. No you didn't blow your cat out.
