what is wrong?

okay when i start from dead stop and pin it first is fine when i throw it in second sometimes it just whines and burns the clutch am i shifting wrong here or what?

yes, you're shifting wrong. most likely, you're hitting the gas before you release the clutch.

if you have wheel spin in 1st, and shift hard to 2nd, your clutch will slip.

its a known thing with these cars. the spread from 1st to 2nd is so large that if your spinning in 1st gear and grab 2nd it pulls the motor too far down in the power band and it wont break the tires free, but it will overpower the clutch.

the fix: if its spinning when you stick the clutch in, dont slam 2nd and hit it full throttle. better idea would be to aim to have traction at the top of first and when you shift to 2nd it wont slip.
