Wheel Hop Solutions
What are some solutions to the wheel hop issues with our cars? I read that changing the engine mounts, and transmission mounts can limit the wheel hop, but do they adversely affect the ride of the car? I want to limit the wheel hop but i dont want to have my car vibrate like crazy and ride like a dump truck.
What have some of you guys done, and how do you feel about the ride now?

Ingalls Engine Torque Damper... yes it does idle a little rougher, but not as bad as the solid motor mounts! It's actually quite tolerable!
And I have no wheel hop to speak of anymore!

i have no traction mods at all, and i dont know about this wheelhop you guys speak of. I know what it is, but have never experienced it when driving or racing, only when it rains) you need to invest in driver mod i think

i can't believe how many ppl are recommending the dampers... clearly you have NEVER had solid motor mounts.
motor mounts >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any damper.

i have an 07 the ingalls was only listed for 05-06.
yeah maybe ill just drive the car slower and not worry about it, or just take the supercharger off, that will take alot of wheel hop out.
no, ill just sell this car and get a camry.
wow...

THERE IS NOT A SURE FIRE WAY TO GET RID OF IT SHORT OF A FULL RESDESIGN OF THE WHOLE SUSPENSION.
even with mounts, traction bars, and limiting straps it will still do it.

i was just asking what people put on their cars to deal with wheel hop, i know you cant take ALL of it away. saying not to floor the car is stupid, if i wasnt going to go wide open, i would have just bought a slower car.
i know i can use the ingalls, and different motor mounts, but let me ask my real question all over again for those that cant read....
What are some of the things you guys have used to combat wheel hop, and how does your car ride as a result?
can anyone verify the part number for the ingalls stiffy, is it 93040? Summit Racing sells ingalls but i need to get the part number since its not listed for the supercharged cobalts.
Since i live about 35 min from summit i could just go pick it up there for like 149 instead of ordering it.

Even if I go WOT in first I dont get any wheel hop at all. Maybe I am just lucky? But if my car doesnt hook, it just spins, no wheel hop envolved at all. Maybe they changed something for the 07's??

i have traction bars, a prothane front mount insert and on the street all I get is wheel spin. depending on how I control the throttle at the track I can still get wheel hop though...
ride comfort is not compromised at all though IMO...just start with the front mount insert and see how you like it and work from there.
