There is alot of research on oil changes and synthetic oil. Changing your oil at 3000 miles when using synthetic oil is a waste of money. Amsoil and Mobil 1 specifically, have been shown to be perfectly safe up to 7,000 miles. They have even been taken up to 15,000 miles before seeing any problems. It has even been proven that as synthetic oil gets used its viscosity gets better and therefore protects your motor BETTER then if you changed it early every time. If you don't believe me do some research on it yourself. I personally change my oil at about 6000 miles - but I do change the oil filter every 3000 miles.

Seriously change your oil when you want, it's your car right.

You're kidding, right? He has one of the nicest SS/SC's on here. I will say that our cars do remind me of cavys from certain angles, but I've never thought his car did...

Come on, if you do it yourself its basically a $20 insurance policy, and its not that hard and doesn't take that long.
exactly my thoughts. i'm always changing it at the 3,000 mile mark.
