I have the K&N CAI. It does add some power but you run the risk of getting a 171 code. Lots of people have this problem with CAI's. I don't know what a honda sounds like but I can tell you that you will like the whine of the Supercharger with the cai.

P0171 = Fuel Trim Code or Lean Condition (More Air to Fuel Detected)

This issue is not just associated with with aftermarket CAI's in the 2.0L LSJ engines. The lean condition has happened even with stock air boxes. There is a TSB and the dealers are aware of this issue. IMO this is an issue that GM needs to correct with the LSJ and I hope there are enough complaints to justify a mass reprogram of the ECU/PCM. I have a 2006 2.0L and the dealer says that I have the most updated program and will not update my PCM/ECU. They also confirmed that a CAI will NOT void any part of your GM warranty provided it is installed correctly. Modifying your stock airbox by altering it in any way WILL void your GM warranty if the failure was a direct result of the alteration.

It means the engine is running lean from the extra air. It seems to occur randomly and there's no fix for it yet, which is the only thing keeping me from donating my paycheck to K&N right now.

The K&N intake is the way to go.

Does anyone have the TSB # for this issue ? i took my car in today for the same Code P0171 , It has happend 3 times with the stock intake and 2 times since the K&N Typhoon CAI . I did leave the CAI on the car when i took it in , My dealer said it would be fine on the car and not viod the warranty , they checked calibration updates and said i had the latest one installed and claimed no TSB's out for the P0171 lean code .. so a # would be great . OHHHH YAAAAAAA Gotta love that Whine

lean code

if you look at the stage 1 and 2 upgrades that are coming out early next year, larger fuel injectors are necessary. I think if you were to upgrade your injectors and get the GM pcm reflash that sets the redline to 7200 and corrects for the added air and power demand.

does anybody know anything about this intake?

Looks interesting and they claim no code but who knows for sure.
im thinking of ordering it but id like some input first.

It happens when you long term fuel trims goes over 20.

I can make it happen on my car pretty easily. Find the right gear (4th usually) and right throttle position and wham 20% and CEL.

Actually it must be more than 18 for at least 2 minutes to set the DTC. And the CEL will not illuminate until the second consecutive ignition cycle that the diagnostic runs and fails
