Thumbs down Who thought things could go wrong...

Well.. everyone has their experiences, some good some bad. I elected NOT to have GM put on my stage 2 kit (As when i called, they told me they didnt put on aftermarket parts, mind you it was a GM STAGE 2 KIT!!!)... anyway so i rent a pulley puller from autozone... the largest one they had couldnt grab the back of the pulley, just the front... So after 3 hours of pulling, heating, and picking up hot metal on accident (i have blisters)... so after bending the hell out of my stock pulley, we had to wait till the next day to get it pressed off. If you have any chance at all to get your pulley pressed off, do so.. its worth the 20 bucks. So the next day we go to get the pulley taken off (I have to leave for orlando in a few hours)... and they guy tells me its going to take an hour.. i didnt have the time, and after implementing how important it was to get it done now (i offered 100, youll know why later), he got it done in 20... so thinkiing everythings ok, we put the s/c back on the engine, and change the belt....

So when i stop at autozone to return the puller, i come out and my car is SCREECING and SLAPPING... appearantly when the belt was put on, it was placed over the a/c pulleys lip, and it litterally seperated a rib from my belt... Luckily the guy who put it on my car is a very good man, and drove out of his way from work and came and fixed my car.. So far everything is good... Werewolf SS Gave me a bad ass wtf tune, so if your in FL talk to him...

This is for anyone who thought NOTHING could go wrong...

BTW, why did i offer that guy 100? Imagine all that hell, multiplied by a pissed off g/f who wants to see shamu at seaworld

a press generally works the best, however a bearing splitter and puller works well too. using a 2 or 3 arm puller will just bend the pulley.

I wish I would have known, I'd have done it for you at work. I just pressed off a stock pulley and installed a GM stage hub for another local guy.

so wait, am I reading this wrong?

You paid a **** load of money for stage 2 kit, but didnt have the dealer flash the tune?

So basically you payed 500 plus dollars for a pully, belt and injectors? OUCH!!!!!

Glad it all worked out for you though!!!

No actually i got everyting dirt cheap... 50 bucks for the entire stage 2 kit except injectors, which i paid 125 for... then 200 bucks for a good tune.... so that was 175 for the stage 2 kit and with the tune it came out to 375... it worked out very well.
