Why are my brake rotors warping so quickly?

Seriously, I buy premium rotors. I have Raybestos pads. The rotors only seem to last about 10-12,000 miles, then I hit the brake at highway speeds and the tire jackhammers under the car. Could it be a blown strut or something else that I am overlooking? My car never sits very long, so the rotors aren't rusting into odd shapes. I really need a solution.

They are warping because you are over heating them.

generally rotors dont warp anymore... its deposits from a hot pad being allowed to stop on the rotor... i bet theres atleast one spot on your rotor where theres an ouline in the shape of your pad... quit using pads that were king ish 50yrs ago and throw some hawk HPS's or something on there and you'll be fine... also if your driving hard to come flying into somewhere and bring the car down from 100 down to 30 and then stop in a parking lot 10 seconds later... drive around for a minute or so and let the pads and rotors cool down... everything will be much happier if you do.

^^^that. also, after coming to a stop, remain in neutral if possible without holding the brakes, i think keeping the pads clamped on the rotor after a hard stop can help warp.

also, OP, i have 2 pretty much new rear rotors for the lsj if u need em lol

ok. I do try to cool them before stopping, but let's face it, we live in the real world. My Raybestos are about shot and have metal melted to their face, so maybe it's time to give the HPS (?) a try. My speedometer just rolled 111,000 miles. I changed the rotors in September at 101k miles. I just can't wrap my head around how fast they go bad. The stock rotors lasted me about 45k miles and everything since has lasted 8 or 12 or maybe 15 thousand. It's getting old changing rotors every few months.
Anyone have a link for the pads? I'll try anything at this point. Any other theories? I do not think my struts are bad, but its not like they're under an old roadmaster or something where one and a half bounces means they are working right?

Doing hot stops and then using the parking brake can warp a rotor or a drag caliper

Its taken me 30k miles to wipe out a set of front pads on my SS/TC and i'm on my third set of tires... idk how damn hard you drive... you'll probably freak once you bed in the HPS pads and realize how much better it stops...

Brake rotors don't warp unless you are taking your car to a track day, where you may spend up to or more than an hour of pushing your brakes to their limits. I am guessing since you say you don't drive hard, that the car sits for a while? Anything longer than 24 hours in a moist environment will start to put pad deposits on your rotor. If anything you could try turning or lathing the rotors, and replacing them with whatever pad you choose. HOWEVER THE CAR NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 48 HOURS!

I have WearEver Silver pads on my car, $20 for rear pads and have yet to notice any vibrations related to pad deposits, or (Warping) as some call it which is the incorrect term anyways.
