Why no Chip for sssc?

Heres my question, forgive me if there is an obvious answer, but how come some cars like vw's and audis etc. can get these chips which boost their power output by 30-40 horses, and our balts dont offer the same sort of upgrade? Or is there a chip and i'm just not aware of it. I have a real basic mechanical knowledge so maybe there is an obvious answer? or is GM too cheap to make one?

From what i understand, it has to do with the GM computers in that they are heard to hack, aka, HP Tuners.

Because its much more effective to do a full out retune than buying a "chip" that only retunes basic measures for a general car.

You can use HPTuners and fully retune your car. A chip generalizes a "tune" to gain hp but dosent compensate for mods or items like that

ok so that explains the debates that people have over whether or not to use hptuners....that makes sense...i'm guessing hp's arent covered under any sort of warranty?

Couldn't tell you.

I know if you get work done to your car at a dealer and you have an hptune and for some reason the dealership needs to reflash the pcm it will erase your tune no questions asked.

If you're going with Stage 2, you don't really have to have HP Tuners as the Stage 2 kit INCLUDES a tune. Only need HP Tuners if you plan on taking the tune further than GM does. At that point if you're not confident enough in your tuning abilities, you might be better off taking it to a shop and having THEM tune it for you.

Well after looking at your sig, if you get stage 2, then upgrade to 60 lbs injectors and a 2.7, you just wasted $650 on stage 2. If you get 60 lbs injectors the stage 2 tune will no longer work (injector flow rate would be different than what is needed)
