WOW Finally 12PSI ? Re-Flash ?

Well my car has been like many others here and only showing 10.5psi on the gauge up until this week. Now at redline I'm at 12psi or maybe a little more.

I wonder if the GM re-flash I had done last week had anything to do with it?

The re-flash also got rid of alot of my after firing and idle issues too.

Did you ever hook a scan tool up to your car to get the MAP reading which is in inches of HG (I am pretty sure)?

I don't believe there is a reflash for the P0171 DTC yet.

What's GM's recommended break-in period for this car? I know each dealer recommends different things (heck, even different salesmen do), but I am curious if GM recommends something different for the SS.

I get near 13 in second....closer to the first mark past 10, am thinking thats 12.5 although I have hit 110 in fourth showing off for friends after like 3 days..hit the rev limiter in second twice (had the salesman in the car, we both wanted to know what the limit for second was....its somewhere near 65+)..I'll pay more attention to the boost gauge in the next few days. I am curious if I'll hit it, if I don't then I'll go and ask for the reflash....they might laugh, but hell, I paid the $$ I'll drive it the way I want...

The reflash you received likely had very little to do with your new found boost (as opposed to the cooler denser air EVERYONE is getting right now)

The reflash you affected the PCM diagnostic system more than anything

My car did the idle thing also. I got a re flash and it did not do it as much. I then which to running only Chevron gas instead of costco gas and have not had any idling issues. My car is know at 12000 and running strong. I have had 2 oil changes. I did try the 1009-e k/n and got the p0171 I went back to the old filter and still got the P0171. Then the service department charge to a new filter (not upgrade but just new) and the p0171 was no more. That was around 4000 to 5000 miles. Since then I have had not issues except for the hick-ups every once in a while at prolonged high boost.

Hope this helps....

They really need to release a reflash with looser MAF parameters. I work for Hyundai and we had the same problems with P0171 on our Sonata and XG350 models. Reflash was released and no more P0171.

It was making more boost in 60 degree weather previous to the re-flash even on 40 degree days I was still only hitting 11psi at best.

I know the re-flash did more than help with diagnostics since the idle is better and the car seems to run alot smoother.

If you have a Cobalt, it seems there are many updates to the PCM..

See this page http://www.fastfieros.com/tech/cal_saturn_cobalt.htm

These are the various operating system changes to the PCM. Compared to the Saturn, the Cobalt seems to be updated alot.
