I may be way off base but is it a good idea to disconnect the battery with a tune?

put it this way. if you change the battery on a car, does it erase the ECU? I've heard of putting a battery on in the wrong order and it frying the ECU, but your just disconnecting the Negative side for a few seconds.

it could possibly lose the tune and or mess up the trims, but I my self haven't done it on a cobalt but have seen it happen on F-body's

I would only put 6 in I would not put 7 manly because if you over fill your car and when it start to build up crank pressure it send oil through the intake there for going through the super charger and causing white smoke to come out the exhaust

Too much oil is just as bad as too little.

disconnecting your battery will NOT do a damn thing to your tune or ECU.
