How does it idle funny? Is it just the sound, or do the RPMs bounce around?

I noticed this same issue when I installed my GMPP exhaust. It feels like I have less control with the gas pedal at low rpm's.

No. I just installed the exhaust on saturday. I've heard that some guys are bumping their idle rpm's up a bit with HP tuners and it solves the problem. If you know someone with HP tuners they might be able to help you.

Bump for a good guy. I sold this header to him and didn't have any problems with the header on my car. I feel bad that he is having problems with it.

Does anyone know how an increase in air flow could be messing with his idle rpms or if that is even possible? Also is it possible that somebody had a tune on the car before he bought it and that is the problem? How would he be able to tell? Good luck cameron.

less of a scavenging effect due to the larger primaries? causing the RPMs to drop, which tells the ECU to open the throttle a little more to keep the engine from dying, which makes the RPMs go up, which puts the car back at square one, so the throttle closes, since it thinks the "near engine dying" is over. repeat about every second

again, this is just my guess, but it seems quite logical to me..

Pull the negative off the battery for at least 15 minutes and put it back on to reset the computer. Probably just needs to learn the new air flows that are happening now.

^^^ What he said, the car knows something is different than what it has learned and it is trying to compensate. This will dump what it has learned and force it to relearn how to run without anything to compare with. When I first had my header and dp installed the car was all over idling high then low then surging. It stalled once or twice at lights. As soon as I got home I shut it down and disconnected the battery for a while. It was fine after that except for a CEL that would pop every now and then. Ultimately you are gonna want to get it tuned to really get the most out of it.

Check for exhaust leaks, if your getting a exhaust leak at the header it will probably suck in air than suck it out tellign your O2 senson your running lean, then it will jack up your idle, then your computer will see the idle RPM and say thats not right! and lower it, and the cycle continues.
