i couldnt get the damn bumper to fit so i grinded down some edges behind the bumper. it was still a tight fit and it rubs on the bumper
well, mine lined up....but if you want, just get 2 nuts from home depot that fit the side bracket parts, and tighten em down a lot. itll keep it straight and from moving at all. thats what im doing cause it was too much of a pain to get the bolts in at the time, and i was just about to take them back off for my new bumper anyway...
Our exchangers are built on a jig and all HE's leave here the same. I've seen customers post and say "it doesn't fit" and then I PM them and find out it's an issue on their end. As you can see, many people post "mine fit perfect". Obviously you all have the same car, so I'm assuming people who aren't used to modifying cars are possibly having a difficult time with an install that requires a little time.
The bumper skin should be taken off and I posted a how to in the vendor section. The ZZP HE is the lowest cost direct fit, custom made unit for the Cobalt. Members on here have reported excellent results and we've sold about 40 of them without a single return.

No matter how you run it, you need the included extra hose and clamps. Glad to see others are not having any fitment issues. Just FYI, every unit is exactly the same so I believe that unless GM made your car different than other Cobalts, install should be easy.
I just installed mine this past weekend, it fit perfectly and no i did not need to remove the bumper. The only hard part was getting the old hoses off of the pump and factory heat exchanger other then that fiasco the install was a breeze.
I installed mine as well on Thursday, removing the stock HE.
Bumper was taken off which isn't even necassary IMO.
Getting the bumper to fit back in without cutting was a pain in the ass though.
And then 2 nights ago I plowed a cat and twisted the entire thing

Either way I was going 70+.
The cat ruined the ac condenser, radiator assembly, grill, bumper + lip, fog light, and the front mount.
I went back to find the cat but it was MIA.
When the car was towed we found hair in the subframe holes
