Question ZZP Intake

hey guys i was thinking about getting a zzp intake for my 2005 cobalt ss/sc but i just wanna hear some peoples opinions on it and

by purchasing a hydro shield for it would it interfere with anything?

Also, it says something about tweaking the PCM file. What is that exactly and would i have to take my car in to get it tweaked..?

thanks guys it will be greatly appreciated!

Get a hydro shield, like Drum said. Pretty much any intake you get from a reputable vendor will be fine. ZZP is a good company. You don't have to tweak you PCM. For maximum gains from the CAI you should tune your car to the new amount of air it's getting. I would wait until you finish bolt-ons. (if you go that route). But, it's your car do what you want!

Go for it, I sold my Injen to go with this one. It sits back further in the wheel well then most other intakes so its less likely to get wet but I put a hydro shield on it just to be safe.

I had it on my LSJ for about 6 months. Never had a hydro shield and it never got wet, but here in Colorado we dont really get much rain. Even in the snow it didnt.

Sounds great. definitely a good purchase.i

thanks guys!

I also heard when you install it fits perfectly but you have to drill a small hole under the headlight?

I have an injen and I may be replacing it with zzp's
I had to a buy a hydroshield because if it rains, i can't go into boost until a full day later of dry weather.
it's bad.

ok yeah i was reading that it fit perfectly then you just had to drill a small hole for it to bolt on but wasn't sure if you had to or not.

thanks for clearing that up as well!

A hydroshield is water resistant not water proof!

With every intake I tested on my car (XTC, Rebel, AEM, Injen), I never had an issue with water. Last summer/fall was one of the wettest on record for PA. I had the Injen intake at the time, & never had a problem.

Avoid large puddles, install a hydroshield, and you should be fine with any cold air intake.

i love my zzp cai however you do have to drill a hole under the headlight to install it. it sits faceing more towards the fog light and i have had mine for about 6 months or so now and i have not had a single issue with it getting wet. i allso herd that the filter doesnt fit to well but mine was a little bit tight to get on but was well worth it in the end. if you have a quite exhaust you can here your supercharger so much more too. i LOVE the whine. zzp makes great products and are easy to deal with if you have a problem.

yeah thats the only thing i heard that you had to do was drill a hole to install it. but other than that i heard nothing but good reviews on it! i can't wait to order it and hear the supercharger

thanks to everyone that helped me in my decision!

Thats why I got rid of my Injen, water runs down the headlight right onto the filter. I actually found a puddle of water in the rubber elbow right befor the throttle body, car was running like crap and i knew exactly what it was and when I saw that I almost **** myself. Haven't had 1 issue with ZZP yet!!
