ZZP S3 Heat Exchanger Install Advice request.

Hey all,
Ordered a ZZP Stg 3 kit the other week and tried to attempt to install the HE tonight. As you can see in the pic I had some issues. So I was wondering if any one has any "helpful" hint or advice. I tried to install it with the bumber cover onper cover on but next time i will take it off, but with or without the Bump cover this will still be and issue. As you can see at the vertical mounting tabs there is a flange that comes down and gets in the way and prevents the mounting tab from reaching that stud where I assume the mounting tab goes (no instructions recieved). So for the guys who have installed this did you have the same issue? and if so what did you do? Did you cut it off. I have used the search thread tool for days trying to find helpful how to"s and printed of a few and they are helpful but can't find any thing specifically about this. Thanks for any help.

Lol really? You would think ZZP would notice or get complaints about that?

So I heard back from ZZP and they said "You have it on the backside of the bumper support, it should be on the front side.". I have asked for pics of one of thier installs to see.

Bend that **** all sorts of goofy ways until it fits up. I had the same problem and I installed mine with the fascia on. Don't worry, you're not going to break them.

I'm installing an older model ZZP H/E today, same thing, "vertical" brackets are off by quite a bit. I got a big ass set of grips and I'm twisting the crap out of them to align them to the factory bolts sticking out in the OP's pic.

Any suggestions on using heat or not when bending? It is aluminium, which I don't have much experience with.

Cheers!

Hey guys, I got the vertical brackets on the H/E to line up and bolt down perfectly, but damn, the two "horizontal" ones (the ones parallel to the top of the H/E and in the "middle" of the H/E) will not line up with the bolts I have, the angles are way off.

The vertical tabs seem to be holding the H/E really well as is bolted down. Everything lines up great, except for those tabs in the middle of the H/E. I know a few posts back it mentioned just using the vertical brackets, is this because the angle of the H/E tabs was off for you as well? I can't even get the nut on the bolt, it's almost a 35 degree angle between the bumper and the H/E.

Advice please

So, I decided that since the horizontal tabs are thicker, they'd be the better ones to anchor off of. This being said, I can't get the vertical ones to bolt in now. Crap, I'm not sure what is better, but the vertical ones are getting a bit mangled as a result of trying to make them fit.

I don't think I can install both the vertical and horizontal ones, I've been trying everything. It's either I bend it one way to make it fit for the horizontal, or, if I want to bolt the vertical, I gotta bend them in a way that the horizontal won't fit. Frustrating.
