ZZP Stealth heat exchanger
Just wondering if anybody has bought and installed the new heat exchanger from zzp yet, anybody have any reviews on it good or bad. just wondering how well it works, how the install is, and how the overall quality is, im thinking about buying one looks real promising.

Iv got one, i keeps the temps at cruis within 18 to 20 degrees of each other for example if its 60 iat ill have 78 to. 80 iat2. The only other cooling mod i have is dual pass so it does a good job, it was easy to install but because of the way the legs on it stick out and up it wouldnt slide in from underneath the car so i bad to remove the front crash bar and slide it in like that, but removing that bar is super easy its like six bolts, the whole install is super easy. Im running a 50/50 mix of dexcool water so pure water may few a tab bit better. Iv not recording any data on my pulls but i do have a log from hp tuners ill look and see what it said about my iat2 during a pull
|
ok I looked back at my logs and I did a 2nd and 3rd gear pull back to back and at the end of 3rd I was at IAT - 79 and IAT2 - 113 and a single 3rd gear pull I record was IAT - 76 and IAT2 - 104, this is on a 3in pulley with only a dual pass and zzp stealth h/e and 50/50 water dexcool mix.

so its no different then stock on temp control

for everyones info my stock h/e with dual pass would have my cruise temps 30+ apart between IAT and IAT2.
Like I said normally im 18 to 20 degrees crusing but last night coming back home I was hitting lower, 16 to 18 degree difference once winter is over ill put pure water in it and im sure it be an easy 16 to 18 degree. |

He said cruise. Im sure at WOT is when this unit shines. But I cant confirm that.

Hmmm....if Vander's results are typical with this new h/e, definitely not worth it. My cruise IAT1-2 difference is 11-15* at all times and WOT difference is around 25-30*. I have the phenolic spacer, flow through tank, opt B, and a craptastic CX Racing fmhe.

People with more cooling mods will have better results u have a phenolic spacer, flow thru tank and opt b i dont have any of these.

Its not normal for my stock h/e setup that i had so whatever it works i have confirm this comparing it to my old setup vs new.

That may be with ur setup but since u dont own my car im pretty sure u dont know what my iat2 was before and after the h/e, im saying it worked for me because i can see the difference because its my car that i drive everyday and watch the iat/iat2
|
No one can really compare IAT2's.... It's like trying to compare boost levels.
Lots of factors can alter ones IAT2s. There is, although, an acceptable range. If ur within it, ur good to go. |

either way though i think an option b will help me out a bit more. i dont see the point of running a huge stealth h/e when you can just put in a small secondary thats front mount as possible |

Option b is one of the best options for the LSJ systems.
Also would like to see how this unit compares to the one modern performance is now offering. But unless someone does an A-B comparison, we will never know as Stage pointed out. |
