I got scared when I seen the title at first. Anything over 13 is lean for a force inducted car. For a N/A car, I think your where you want to be. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

naturally aspirated, as opposed to forced induction

meaning that your car is naturally aspirated, or lacking an additional means of induction. Basically no supercharger or turbocharger installed to work with the engine.

14.0:1 sounds like borderline diesel. Why would anyone take a gas motor that high?

He's talking Air to Fuel Ratio... not compression. Learn to Read.

Just fixing your stock tune to get a better A/F ratio isn't going to net you a TON of power... but it'll certainly help. If all else fails... just buy an SS/SC... hey look, there's one for sale in my Sig.

True.

Not True.

...and actually... 14.7 is the perfect AFR.

F/I is a whole different ball game.

Forced Induction...

...Supercharger and/or Turbo.

Instead of asking so many n00b questions...

A lot of the info you are looking for can be found very very easily. That's why there is Google, Yahoo, and the CobaltSS.Net search button!

if your asking if that AFR has ever been hit by a 2.2, then yes...every single L61 out there has hit that AFR....lean cruse, decel, ect....

if your referanceing 14:0 at WOT then i certonally hope not. 14:0 doesnt have enough fuel to support much advance or compression. not enough just for cooling and knock resistance eaither.

you can push a well tuned NA car into the mid-high'ish 13's at WOT but not much beyond that before you need more octane or **** lets go.

at that AFR your power will be suffering quite a bit because of a few things, one, you'll have to pull so much timeing to keep kr out of it the car simply wont want to move. Two even when you find a sustainable advance number, with so little fuel to make energy out of, there still wont be dick for power.

14.7 is perfect at IDLE and light throttle. NOT at WOT.

Stop giving bad advice. The kid is going to blow his engine up.

do boosted cars see 14.7 AFRs at part throttle (as in 50% throttle for instance) as well or just during decel and idle?
