2.2 LNF Swap

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...ayphotohosting

if i were to purchase this i know it would swap in but i have a few questions.....

since it comes with the ecu and everything would it just a swap and plug and play?

would i have to re wire a bunch of stuff or just plug in the new computer and it would work?

i have an auto trans, would it bolt up to the lnf? if not how hard would it be to swap in the manual that comes with the engine?

all help is welcome, also, what would the estimated install cost be?

still there are two diff manual trannys....2.2l and 2.4l have f23, 2.0l has f35 u would need a transmission to go with this...better off getting a hahn kit if youre willing to spend that much

us<reading it comes with the tranny

well, let me put it this way. if you're concerned with price, this is not a project to start. be prepared to double the cost of the car at least.

as far as the manual tranny, you're going to have to start making holes in the floor and whatnot as well.

It will be much easier electronically as well as cheaper to turbo the 2.2L. If you want the LNF's power, then just get forged components for the 2.2 and run a higher PSI of boost.

If you were to put the LNF in, you would need to rework the electrical system of the car... especially since you'd be installing a manual transmission as a requirement of doing so. You can keep the 4t45E with a hahn kit on your 2.2.

Plus, the potential of a built 2.2L is better anyways since it has higher displacment than the 2.0, but the cylinder walls are not as thin as the 2.4.

i would deffinately go that route rather then trying to swap in an LNF setup, you get a more powerfull car for less money and that auto tranny can handle a lot of power

yea, ive been thinking about it for a long ass time...... just need to get some cash now haha

btw how hard is it to install new pistons/rods? i would probably just upgrade those and settle for 300whp.....

my other option was to sell the balt and get a 98-02 trans am ws6, but then id still owe on the balt and it would be a bitch to pay off along with the trans am

How hard is it to install pistons/rods? ...If you have to ask then it's something your going to have to pay for. If your looking for 300whp then your probably going to have to get some toys for cooling your tranny...

GM 4T45 = just over 300 ft/lbs. The problem you might have, this might be a big boom, is your torque converter. That can only take just over 200 ft/lbs in theory.

I suggest you do more research before you consider anything

and the street racing cliche is for the pimple faced wanna be kid diesels living their lives a 1/4 mile at a time

i just asked how hard it was.... refering to on our cars...... i am capable of doing it just curious

as for the tranny, it is perfectly fine, i know a few people pushing over 375whp on the stock manual trans... the auto is rated for more, it will be fine

torque converter... i will worry about that when it goes

as for street racing.... i dont give a **** thats my business
