Precision Auto Sports in Beavercreek OH uses SCT for their primary tuner. I called them to see and he said he can tune all cobalts not except for the 2007 base models.

i think everyone knows that they have a tune available for the turbo kit but there is no info to show that they have released tuning software for use with our motors for those who do not run the Garrett kit.

be extremely careful

you can detonate under extreme rich conditions

and if you're running really rich, you'll smell it and you'll wash down your cylinder walls with fuel making it rough.

Smell your oil to make sure there's no fuel (pull dipstick out and sniff it)

and do you have a wideband o2?

Find out how he is using it. If they can use HPTuners that means alot of guys on here should be able to do the same. Find out as much as you can on this. You may just go down as a 2.2 Hero.

HPTuners can't tune the E16a, so how are they using HPTuners? Unless they tuned for another car, they couldn't possibly have tuned for a 2005-2006 L61 Cobalt. Did they tune for a 2.2 Cavalier?

Post the phone number. I'm going to call.

Well as always, everyone on here needs visual hard evidence to back up this claim. This would be pretty cool though.

There is no freakin way you can "run it as a cavalier". You cannot make the software read a computer its not designed to read. The E16a is completely different then the computer in the cavalier. Only SCT can tune for the E16a computer and they have not released any info about software support. So please do not give those people your money.

Is the SCT tune that keeps popping up (and I know it hasn't been released) an actual tune that is equivolant to HP Tuners or is it some kind of piggyback system?

Good luck on the turbo and tune though man! Keep us all posted. Anybody call the number he gave?

As of right now, all we know is that the Garrett Alpha kit comes with a canned SCT tune. SCT has software out that can allow us to retune our cars on our own just like HPTuners. We are just waiting on the information from SCT. From what i know is that SCT has literally just moved into a new building so they are a little behind.

I dont have the garrett kit. I have alpines, or did. the kit was made and tested on my car to work for the cobalts. They did the install and full tune on it. It ran about 11.8 AFR WOT if that helps.
