2.2 turbo question

just wondering if anyone blew their motor yet, and what you are using for tuning.
i have a 2007 2.2 with my custom build on 6psi i should be getting 320WHP, my turbo is good to 500, and my intercooler and charge piping is good to 800, 3" everything

if you don't have a built engine you're gonna kill your motor it's good to about 250 or so at the crank with mods so goes the build book. 320 to the wheels is pyscho on a stock motor.

i haven't heard of any 07's turbo'd yet, but some of the others are using trifecta's tune, or are waiting for it to be made specifially for their car

x2, OP, what other mods do you have and what internal mods do you have? 320whp at only 6psi seems kinda crazy.

we're not trying to put you on the spot but so far the 07 doesn't cam a cam option yet which leaves you stuck with a stock cam that won't sustain that type of power not too mention the rest of the valvetrain and bottom end. only looking out.

Exactly, but if the OP really does have 320whp, I hope he has the right mods to sustain that much power. A 320whp Cobalt would be badass.

OT - I hope they come out with some cams for the 07-08's soon.

my turbo starts at 280 whp so im screwed either way lol
if i blow it then oh well, i am buying the 2.2 raceblock thats sleeved and i have ARP main studs, and Head studs, i got Eagle H beams, and Wisco pistons on order. the only way im gonna buy the sleved block is if i blow mine, if not and it holds till winter then i will just instal on this motor but if i blow it then i am going sleved and looking at 450-550 whp, i know people may think wow high numbers but its worth it.
i have in the GM perfomance catalog Cams, and i know they have cams for the 2.2 cause there is a 2.2 drag balt with 1,400 WHP pretty sure its the summit racing one.
anyways guys thanks for the help, i will keep you up to day with photos and whats up as i go

the 07 2.2 uses a cam with a cam sensor and the cams available now don't have that sensor which means they won't work.

I want some photos, it seems like you know what you're talking about, and it seems like you're building a monster. Good luck!!

Is there a specific reason why they did that? I've always wondered that.

thanks, i will post pics, i wrote my car off last saturday night sworving for a deer, i rebuilt it and bent the frame back on turesday night, so i had to order a few more parts for my turbo witch was on the car when i hit the concrete highway divider and i need to order a new front bumper before turboing to fight the MASIVE intercooler in there.
once i get the intercooler and turbo on, i am running a purge kit along with a NOS snake rod intercooler nos spray, and a meth injection.
i wanna build the fastest domestic here in nova scotia but its gonna be hard to top a cavi with a 3800 v6 supercharged motor with the sc removed and replaced with a GT35 good to 800 WHP but hes only running something like 460 whp rightnow

Yeah, but I think within time someones gotta come out with them. I honestly think that's the only reason why I dont wanna buy an 07 or 08, but then again I could always do the basics until the cams come out. Can you still purchase an aftermarket head for the 07's or 08's, or is it pointless without aftermarket cams?

So the guy dropped in the S/C 3800 from the Grand Prixs and Monte Carlos, and then put a turbo on it? Thats kinda crazy.

Maybe Insurance companies in Nova Scotia let you write off stuff like that.
