2.2L intake

i don't know if anyone has asked but either way i'm too lazy to search 4 it. i was wondering which intake would be best for my 2.2 sedan. The only ones i would buy are aem, fujita, injen, and k&n. I'm not sure about the XTC cold air but i'm pretty open minded. Also which setup would be better, the cold air intake or the short ram intake. If this has already been discussed send me the link. yeah. also if anyone has gain numbers on a 2.2 sedan that would be cool too. thanks.

Injen usually wins due to its ability to be either an SRI or CAI.

i always say aem, since they have been proven to have the best filter on the market

I have the Injen and love it. I run CAI in the summer and SRI in the winter. Love how it is interchangeable like that and I get around +5 to my MPG with the CAI setup.

This is posted under an Injen for sale thread:

I have the Injen on my 2.2L; installed as a CAI but coverted to SRI during a flooding rainstorm at the beach. Back to CAI for me. The lowdown on this; this is a killer deal; you can use it either way and I have an easier way to install it. It will fit a 2.2 or 2.4. SRI: quicker throttle response with power on the bottom end. CAI: Less power on the bottom with less throttle response at low RPM's but a lot more power on top. I win more races with the CAI.

That's my post in the other thread!!

I just put in a K & N filter and removed the intake resonator. Intake and exhaust sound much better. And there is a definate power gain and throttle response

was that jjust a drop in filter? you still have the intake box, and what did you use to replace the intke resonator, and what did you use on the valve cover intake hose?
i ask because this is what im thinking of doind, i also have the K&N drop in filter.

I need to post pics or do a writeup or something. I put in a drop in K&N filter. The intake resonator is located in the fenderwell under the air box. So just removed the fenderwell lining and remove the huge black plastic resonator and you are done. It took me about 30 minutes. The resonator has one tab pullout that's holding a side in and a 10mm bolt on the front bumper side of the resonator. I'm a complete noob and did all of this.

Talked with the maker of the CAI for Fujita. Had impressive numbers on a dyno sheet for me to look at IN PERSON.

Those little shops at Nopi are pretty cool when you get to talking to some people.

Fujita for the 2.2L is almost a double digit WHP I think it was around 9.
