2.2L Turbo
2.2L Turbo
First of if this is a repost sorry cause i didn't really look around much so if it is just delete it.
Anyway I'm picked up the newest edition of Modified MAg today and they had a picture of a turbo set uo for the 2.2 L cobalts that was at the SEMA show so I'm thinking that it must be a respectable product. So here is the link tell me what you think of it.

Got a weird question, will I be able to run regular grade fuel for city driving and mid/premium for getting the full potential out of the turbo? That's sort what kept me away from a supercharger, not being able to run anything less than 91.
on any sort of forced induction, you will want to run 91+ octane.
if you dont run 91+ octane, you can take the damage to add premature wear to your engine, and possibly catastrophic engine failure.

It's especially needed on a 10.0:1 compressened engine like yours.
In the long run its really not that much more than the cheapest, maybe 10 bucks a month unless you drive like crazy.
cheap bastard!! it's only like a dollar difference to fill up!
All very good points guys. Also thinking more about when fuel goes back to rediculous prices in the summer, but now that I think about it more with your guys' input, it doesn't seem to matter.
as far as the crazy gas prices, even here in CA when 87 was $3.40, 91 was still the same $.20 more than regular at $3.60
You sir need to read more. He won't have to tune it. It will come with a tune via the SCT LiveWire device. And then, if he wants to tune it, he can, at any of the SCT dealers around the country, Third, you're right, it's not rated higher then the SS in horsepower. But Stock SS for retail Garrett kit, I best it's faster.
I just LOVE IT.....ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT when the SS/SC guys come in here and flex their supercharger. listen guys, ur blower aint all its cracked up to be. and im probably gonna start another flame war cause im good at it, but man this has got to stop...
if that one dude up there wants to show off his small *****...let him, and laugh at him...dont say everyones like him
see...generalizing that ******* up there as representing ALL ss/sc guys was a dumb move...theres really no difference between an SS member and a n/a member....they just had a little more cash when they were car shopping compared to us..thats all

i do have a legit question though .... how about an actual sc instead of a tc.. i like the idea of a sc more then a tc. could u take the tuning that is possibly coming out and bolt up a sc and make it work..
please dont scure me
please dont scure me
if you can tune, you can do anything....buy some piping, an intercooler, if you like you can get the M62 from GM or a diff model, tune it up, and whala! a 2.2 SC
