But let me ask what's different with the older 2.4 mani and the 08+newer one and why you would need a tune..without the 2.4 tb?

Talk to NWAE Cobalt, he's a member on here. Sold his balt but he has a template we made for that adapter plate. My 2.2 had the 2.4 manifold on it and our adapter. I'll mention it to him today, he should have at least one sitting around he could ship off to you. Send him a PM.

Yeah I know what you mean, that's why we made one for mine, same issue.

Just talked to him, he still has them and can make you one. Probably won't cost much more than shipping. Makes them out of Lexan which works great in this application. Just don't go all gorilla on the TB bolts.

only if you run the 2.4 tb, though you will see much better gains out of tuning with the 2.4 mani on

You do not HAVE to have the tune to run the 2.4 intake mani...just the TB. In fact you wont be able to tune till you ge the fitment right.

Im the guy yelloeye was talking about, I actually have a set (gasket and adapter) made if your interested. Shoot me a PM and we can work it out and I can ship to today if you need one.

everything is all plug and play once you get the adapter from me. from everythign youve mentioned so far as long as you have all the gaskets set up on it and all the holes filled with a hose or wire that goes in it youll be good to go!

Just tell her it'll get a lot better gas mileage after the tune. I was getting 38-40 on the freeway.

haha ya yelloeye i tell her all the time its going to make my car run better and get better gas...in which it does if im not lead footing it all the time...iv gotten upward to 31mpg (hwy miles) and the most on a full tank was 427miles estimated..lol but i started doing a differ way on filling up gas..i found a thread on here about it and my wifes 08 equinox got about 340ish miles to a full tank..took her TB off cleaned it and air filter and filled her car up real slow haha...took forever on a 20 gal tank..but last night on her trip A i got it at 399.6 =) so i improved like 50+ miles in doing so. and filled it back up and her estimated full tank read about 443 which usually reads about 340-350 range..

Taking the figures from his post:
EPA Fuel Economy 16city/24hwy 19combined

Full tank = 20gal

1 tank before TB cleaning = 350miles
1 tank after TB cleaning = 400miles(rounding up .4miles)

MPG before cleaning = ~17.5
MPG after cleaning = ~20

If he drove all highway miles he should get 480 a tank according to the EPA, now with him filling slow it is allowing him to fill the neck of the fuel filler all the way up to the top. Possibly adding upto 1-2gallons of fuel, EPA says that should equal 48 miles HWY. That's all the sense I can make of it.
