350hp from 150 shot

Here's my build plan. First off let me give you a little clarification on my build. This is my car and my baby and for better or worse my tuner choice. I'm going for a mild NA build with the ablility to run a 150 shot wet for a total 350whp. Currently I have the usual bolt-ons starting with an injen intake, lsj exhuast mani, zzp flex, magnaflow 2.5 highflow cat with a custom dp all flowing into a corsa sport catback.

In order to reach my future goal. I will be installing an adjustable suspension (haven't settled on brand, yet) with the ssbc big brake kit and a nice pair of shoes. After this my build will include the 2.4 intake manifold, stage 1 cams, springs, retainers, rods and pistons. After all's said and done I feel this should leave me with a sweet street and track setup.

So what do you think about this build?

hell if you are going for a build just get stage 2 cams and make sure to upgrade the springs. Then set the rev limiter to 7k or 7500

so how much power does a "real" header make over the lsj manifold? getting a bigger bottle or two is a must and will be for the track only.

no turbo on this build.

Couldn't tell you, i did down pipe and header at the same time and it made a huge difference, i have an 07 which there were rumors that it has the lsj exhaust mani from the factory (dunno how true it is though, never really paid attention).

If you're planning on doing this with the stock block, i see some broken rods and swiss cheese block in your future

so why would you make that reccomendation given the stock dp is restrictive as hell with or without the lsj manifold? thanks for the help anyway.

hack you missed my rods and pistons in the build, huh?

i'm leaning 11:1 with the stage 1 cam. i was considering stock cr if i went stage 2 however i'm not sure if i want such an aggressive cam profile on my dd.

street toy? what chu talkin' 'bout willis?

you're gonna need to look into an intake manifold option

i also have no idea whether the fuel pump can support such a large shot

Cuz i think it is funny if someone were to do a build such as your planning and not spend an extra money to make sure they are getting the most out of it. Especially if your planning on doing higher rpms...but hey, it was just a suggestion and something i would recommend for what your doing.

the original post has the 2.4 intake as my intake choice and i believe i will end up porting out my 2.2 tb for the build.

the lsj exhuast manifold has a 2.5 outlet that fits my setup. if anything i may port and polish the manifold during the build.

the fuel pump is the million dollar question isn't it.

so seriously why not just go turbo? you'll be spending so much on nitrous and that 150 shot will cause a lot more wear than a turbo... i'd rather have the turbo there for whenever i need it than pull up to a car i could beat with spray but not have any in the bottle.

in all honesty i'm a nitrous junky and i'm not looking for a full time race car i just want a good 200 or so for the daily drive and the 350 for my track days and as to the turbo i'm looking at a getting a different platform for that. in my eyes this build is simply me and my toy doing what i like to do which isn't always the next guys logical choice.

if you actually finish this build off id be very impressed and a bit scared of ur balt haha. I think you should up the CR to 11 to 1 cuz you will have some more power off the bottle. with a stage 2 cam and a nice tune you could be around the 180whp range or higher depending on how fast you wanna spin that baby. I would wait and see what that one dude on here with the stage 2 cams and stock CR puts down. that will give you an idea on if you like that power he's making off the bottle.

thanks for the encouraging words sw4y. it's hard to do anything original or different on these forums without someone telling you what to do as though it was their car. i am waiting on matt and this build is in the far off future. i want to complete my suspension and brakes before i go for the 350whp. i'd rather not end up painting the wall at rt.66 speedway, just doesn't sound like a good time.

the tune is $250 then there's shipping $25-$60 and a $200 credit hold for the tuner. in general $475 up front but you get your $200 released when they get the gt tuner back.

p.s. 15% discount for a retune.

there was a time when I wanted spray, then I added up how much it costs to fill your bottle everytime and realized the better deal was F/I
