Well a turbo is actually better for winter IMO. i say that because a turbo can be controlled more so than a supercharger. You can adjust the boost from your turbo or just not get on it hard enough to kick in boost. It is easier to avoid boost with a turbo than it is with a SC. HOWEVER, with that said, I have a SC I'll sell you for $400 shipped

Looks like you already know what you want.^^^^^^^^^^Shifter isn't shorter, the throws are shorter. The distance between 1,2,3 etc

< over simplified version>
When changing the suspension by lowering it, you change the relationship of the pivot points in such a way that as the suspension moves up and down it pulls the tire in an out, effectively steering it, hence "bump steer." The shims that were referenced help restore the relationships of the pivot points, hence mitigating "bump steer."

Oh, and I still say beer, a cheap cigar, and a bottle of jack.

Then save more money so you'll have more and better and better options.

Honestly (sale pitching aside) a short shifter with a base bushing setup and a proper weighted shift knob will make a night and day difference on your car. I could pull out probably 20 reviews from this forum alone that saw that a TWM Performance short shifter kit was the best mod they ever did to their car.

It does way more than simply change the height. A TWM Performance short shifter will give you a better more solid reverse lock mechanism, shorter distances between the gears (get more power to the ground, faster) and the biggest difference is in the feel. The feel of the OEM Cobalt SS shifter is atrocious and a short shifter and bushing kit completely changes that. You get great feedback from the transmission and can really feel what the gearbox is doing.

The bottom line is that you use your shifter every single time you get into your car and drive it, and it's one of the tools you use to have fun with your car. The OEM Cobalt shifter is horrible, so it seems like a no-brainer to me...I will never drive another car without a quality short shifter ever again.

For what it's worth, if you'd like to check out the products we have for your car, feel free to visit the links below:

Thanks,

Patrick

^^ this. Then you'll have money left over for the beer mod. Just don't beer and shift at the same time.

Oh god dammit your post got in the way....

I'm thinking you should spend the money on a typing and spelling class. jeez.

I have a TWM Short Throw, and it is The best Driving Mod i've ever done. It may not give the car more power, but the crisp Short shifts and just the overall feel of the driving is way worth the money.

Smoke the Taillights?

Remember Small details can make all the difference, maybe paint your Bowties black, de-badge. little inexpensive ****. theres no need to spend $500 just cause you have it.

I agree.

Whatever you do end up getting, make sure the beer and jack come after the project so you don't mess anything up. Darn you Sox-Fan, you got in the way too.

Projector headlights are an option, unless it's been said, in which case my brain is just blur reading again. I just got myself the 2nd gen projector headlights for my balt. Should be here by Monday, though it would have been good to get them on Good Friday.

You can make more power with a turbo. But go ahead and spend more on a SC and make less power. Lol
