Excuse the last post you made, but I have a 2.4. It fits perfect in both. Only problem is if you decide to go non-N/A you will have to get rid of it. The install was easy....

edit- woops I am drunk it is perfect

Intakes on the 2.2 should yield about 5-8 HP Injen is a great intake, AEM is also a fine choice.

ive heard that the AEM was giving problems and making the engine light go on all the time. do u think its worth it to get the injen. the aem is like 150, and the injen is about 350.

i have an AEM on my 2.2 ls, and the CEL does come on, and the code is for "system running lean".. although it pissed me off the first time the computer on the car remapped it self and it shut off after like 100 miles, or when it comes on jsut disconnect the battery.. its no big deal

How is the Injen 350? It is low 220 for the 2.0 and 230 for the 2.2/2.4 free shipping at www.TurboTechRacing.com

i bought my AEM CAI for a 2006 cobalt ls.. 2.2, from modacar.com it cost me 245 shipped.. the only problem is that there isnt a CAI out FOR the 2006 yet, its for the 2005 and if u look at ur airbox on the 2006 there is a hose going into the top of the box, that has no where to go so i just stuck a breather on the end of it so that the air is still filtered

This comment is not true
I bought mine for a 2.2 ls 2005. It was wrecked, I bought a 2006 SS / NA and it fit absolutely PERFECT... No problems wiht anything. MY CEL came on 2 days after install for about 2 hours. After that no more. I installed mine on 2nd day of owning car, and have owned it for 3 months now. NO problems at all, only problem I get is running faster then most 2.4's cuz my computer only ran stock air box for 200 miles and has ran CAI for 7000 miles. I think my 2.4 DEFINETLY is enhanced from doing this. And no one here can deny what I say, because they do not know how the computer is configured. Injen is good, if you like oiling your CAI whenever it rains...

I heard you have to pull the bumpers and fenders off along with other things...what is actually involved in the installation and how long to get everything off to the point where you could clean the filter?

To install all you have to do is remove your wheel and fender well guards... To clean you ust do the same.. Takes about 45 minutes

There is no air hose without an area to plug it in. If so give me pics, I will show you where it is supposed to be plugged in. You should have no hoses like what you are talking about! And all the intakes out say 2005-2006... I have not heard of one specifically for the 2006 or 2005... But you are more then welcome to prove me wrong

just my $.2 but im pretty sure cars sold in states that closely follow the cali restrictions to be dot legal will probly have slightly different systems than states which have softer emissions standards. gm isnt gonna spend money they dont have to for cars in states that dont require the cars to pass strict testing. some states dont even have annual inspection on road going vehicles, i know florida doesnt.

Thanks for your 20 cents (read what you wrote ^ ^) But, alas, he is not from California, nor am I. As my car was bought in Virginia, I believe NY has the same emissions checks. After that I am not sure, but I am pretty sure everything is the same unless your from Cali...

Ok now trace it to the source where on your stock airbox was it connected?

Also what does it connect to? You say a small pump or fan but it would be useful to know which fan or pump I will go search my car for corresponding parts

it was connected to the top airbox, the box where the filter was, it was connected to the top right hand corner of the box.. it goes down to a small fan or pump on the front of the car, behind the front bumper, some one told me its for cold air starts and something to do with emmisions

Do you have special emissions checks in New York that I am not aware of? Or was your car bought/built for California?

Quite odd. You should see if this is a fan blowing in or out. And what the fan is pointing at or what not. I stand corrected.

I just did a search and check this out. As of Nov of last year, YOUR CITY IS OWNED BY CALI! heheh check it out

http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/p...5/2005131.html

But that is weird says will not take place until 2009...
