AEM UEGO Oxygen Sensor Location

Hi,

I have the Racing Solution DP/Header and I'm installing the wideband oxygen sensor, for it to be in front of the cat it's only about 12 inches from the exhaust ports. The installation manual recommends approximately 18 inches. Do you think this will cause any issues?

Thanks

No no issues, it will still be acurate enough to tune with.

i had mine after the cat, and then re done before the cat, and it was hardly a noticable difference

i can check my aem and the wideband on the dyno and they are very similar, and the dyno samples at the farest point in the exhaust system, so your okay

What about for the life of the sensor? Will having it closer to the exhaust ports (hotter gasses) reduce it's life?

ive never heard of that being an issue, but who knows, im on my second sensor only from ruining the first one by accident

they last about as long as a normal o2 sensor would last, think about your front o2 sensor, that sits in the header, and they last pretty long? just saying

Good point, I didn't think about that. That makes a lot of sense.
