Altot of noise, not so much performance???

I notice, i put alot of "bells and whistles" on m y car, but its still not, i dunno. It feels like as much noise it makes that it should be peforming up to as much noise it makes. It sounds cool, but the car still drags.

Does anyone know what i'm talking about. whats good ways to get torque without getting a turbo kit. I already have exhaust, downpipe and intake...

Any other ways to make my car, or any car perform like it sounds..

It was embarrising cuz my girlfriend called me out on it. haha, o well

and i raced a gti and lost. of course, but it made them feel good

lots of things to do. Most people don't do any of it. Get cams build the top end and rev it out to make more power. Get rid of aloe of weight that will make everything better. Try something custom. Find out what other cars do to make power and do that with yours. But remember its just a 4cyl and its not gonna run 7s all motor

im afraid of n20, i dont give it time of day. cuz i always invision myself blowing the car up..
anyone hear bobut mH 4 door sedan that got turbo charged somen happend to his clutch. i'm scared of something like that happenin to my car.. yikes...

I removed my spare tire for a bit, and noticed a huge difference, however when i put it back in i felt i went around turns better. I think with the weight distrubution, whatever u take from the back you have to take from tthe front to evenly distribute it. I dunno though.

keep in mind that you're probably putting out around 130 - 140 whp with your mods, which isn't alot. if you want more power without f/i, you'll have to build your engine.

of coarse he had clutch problems he added 70hp to the wheels. That's gonna tax any system.

If you don't already have a header get one, maybe the 2.4 intake mani and if your an 05-06 tunning just came out so that just opened the door for more potential without going piggy back.

I have an '07. and i got the ss/sc header/downpipe combo. cuz all over theforums people said going any bigger to 2.5 would be pointless for the 2.2's

then i would go with springs and struts for the handling, and the 2.4 intake manifold would make a pretty big improvement in power

you could also try that jet ecu chip. A guy from the 2.4 section bought one and really likes it.

this is part of the problem. yea, the ss/sc parts are better than the ones that came on your car, but they're still very restrictive and don't flow as much as an aftermarket would. that big ass spot around the 02 sensor that looks like someone beat it with a hammer, restrictive runners, etc.

going bigger than 2.5 will be pointless depending on what you're doing with the car, if you're looking for big power maybe not. it all depends on what you're looking to get out of the car.

Any mkIV or mkV GTI should take a 2.2 cobalt easily unless its s/c, t/c, or spraying.

Very true Kevin. SS/SC DP and Exhaust are plenty for me, but then again I don't plan on doing much else with the car.

Don't waste your money on a jet chip when you could get the real deal.
Clear Image Automotive can create a custom tune for 2.2's that will get much more HP than any so called "Chip" or "Module"
