Anyone know about exatorq custom tune?
Anyone know about exatorq custom tune?
i dont know for sure but this place says they can tune cobalts. once on the website click on GM Custom Tune Pricing .It says that they can swap ecu units in gm cars from 1999-2007 is that possible? maybe this could be the answer we need for tuning . I tried to call them and they were closed so ill just call back later
does anyone know anything about this like is it possible or is it legal ? ill find out later and get an answer. For now here is the link http://www.exatorq.com/
dont know for sure if they do swap ecu s out from the way they word it out . but im only hoping

I think what they do is send you an ecm with the tune and you put down a core deposit and you get that back when you send back your stock ecm or you send them yours and get it back in the mail like one of the overnight mail backs. The down side is having to get the crank relearn if they send you a different ecm. So they aren't swapping out the different year ecms' they are swapping ecm for ecm example 2006 cobalt ecm for the same ecm not swapping years. Also they are using westers and tune time thats what give me the thought of how it will be done. Thats what I noticed on their website.. As far as the 2.2 is concerned I don't think they can be done yet
Its official they say they can Tune 2.2L
Here is the official email they had sent me stating that they can tune our ecu's with the ecu swap method
Juan--
The 2.0 and 2.4 Cobalts we can do here in the shop...the 2.2 ECU we
ship
to our partner in Canada (Wester's Garage), as he has the equipment to
flash those ECUs. For the 2.2, we would usually do a swap provided we
had an ECU in stock; otherwise, you'd need to send yours in. Typical
turnaround time is one business day, but with shipping to/from Canada,
it's best to give it a week. Cost if we use your ECU is $350, $400 if
we send you one of ours to swap with.
If interested, you can fax the attached order form directly to us at
206.309.7491. If you decide to send your ECU in, I'll give you
detailed
shipping instructions to ensure it arrive quickly without having to be
charged for GST taxes.

An ECU flash essentially replaces the old data that was on the current ECU with all new data that would include removing the speed governor and making the ECU tunable for boost among other things. (feel free to correct me)
Do not send them your ECU. There is no way they can do anything for it at this time, even in canada. HPTuners and SCT have yet to crack the ECU. Please stop making these threads, its been covered a million times. And you might as well stop wasting your time looking for a shop that can tune the e16a because you wont find one. They all use either Diablo Sports, SCT or HPTuners and they have not released anything on the e16a yet.
Getting a mail order tune is not worth it either. Look how many SS/SC's have blown their engines because of it. Get a custom tune either by a shop or yourself, or no tune at all.

Well that sucks if they did lie to me. but i figured i try to call westers to see what they say and if they cant tune our cars then they need call extorq and correct them if thats the case. instead of destroying hopes and dreams of people like me
Lies, lies and more lies. There computer hasn't been cracked by anyone yet. No matter what gear this garage has unless they have access to GMs setup. The computer could be tuned by someone from GM.
::breathes a sigh of relief:: It's about damn time! That's the best news I've heard in weeks! Now that I know it's been cracked, I can be patient and wait for this kit (this is the one I wanted.)
You may have to wait a while.
SCT had the thing cracked back in January. But under their contract with Garrett, they probably can't do anything with it until Garrett starts selling the kit. They where supposed to do that in the spring, and it never happened.

I called westers garage and they said they can but they said they are not allowed to tune yet . With this info i was like WTF cause why wouldnt they be allowed to tune ? they wouldnt tell me the reason why? this seems like there's a mystery to be solved lol anyone with info on why they cant tune plz post
