word round here is 2.2 internals handle up to 250HP...

its not about HIGH BOOST its about how much power you can get w/ the lowest amount of boost

AHHH nnonoononono STOP please don't order anything.... if you're going turbo an intake and header is pointless as they will be specific for the turbo and included... and it's not about boost it's about air movement... and lower temps. high boost doesn't mean good numbers...hell there are people using the stock m62 on their ss/sc and pushing like 17-19 PSI and still not breaking 300

it's about engine HP and torque that matters before something pops

You need to think this out really, really well. What are your power goals? How much are you willing to spend? Do you want to go with a turbo kit, or do a complete custom job? Research is the key, otherwise you will end up wasting alot of money.

Please Please Please

1. Read the Turbo FAQ that I compiled along with Halfcent
2. Do as much research on how a turbo system works before spending any money
3. It's not about air pressure (boost), it's about the amount of air flow being sent per PSI of air pressure. There is no real answer to your question.

Stock J body 2.2s run about 10psi from the supercharger upgrade kit IIRC.

in all honestly i usually hate that people say this but if all you want is a 230HP car... trade it in for a ss/sc. because turboing a 2.2 is extremely difficult due to lack of tuning....the 2.2 is very different from older cars... it's very much so possible but you'll need alot of help if you don't know what you're doing... it's not that 230 is impossible but.. without doing everything correctly you can easily blow you engine..

if you're looking to keep it 2.2 the do an engine build first then you'll have a little bit more leeway

Then why did you buy a 2.2 if money isn't a issue?

if he wanted a balt he could've at least gotten a 2.4 so he would've had a better tuning option....

What ever you do what ever tubo stuff you use i shuggest that you also go to crate engine depot and buy the 2.4 manafold its one piece and the 2.2's is two. The 2.4 one ill be able to stand more and is better flowing. Good Luc!

Okay...

Well I wasn't saying you should have gotten a SS/SC but why didn't you get a better platform vehicle, that's all I was saying.

How much experience do you have with forced induction?

the only problem with that is the 2.2s are ridiculous to tune correctly

none, i am more for engine upgrades than i am with forced induction. i am trying to learn alot about them though. i was more for motor than i was for turbos but it is coming down to where everybody is using them. and it is more hp for the 4 bangers.

I remember reading some where in some forum that GM says a 2.2 with stock internals can hold up with 8-10psi with a 50 shot...
