Anyone have an idea why a 06 2.2 ion that's recently been boosted would rev uncontrollably when you start the car? It's running 42# injectors.

edit..he wanted me to add... spliced the injector wires ie used the pigtail harnes

like when you start it it just revs up like if it was floored?

If it wasn't tuned..it wouldn't do that i dont think. You would just smell the gas hardcore..i ran SS injectors for a minute un-tuned on my car. (we were doing tests to see if my tune loaded) and it bogged bad.

check the throttle body..might be stuck

 

i can hear the TB plate open wen the car i put to the acc potion

i checked thr freaking harnessto make sure i ddnt somehhow tap the TB plug and unfortunately I didnt

we're at a los now EVERYTHING that could g wrong has gone wrong o fari jut want this kid car to be running i dont care if it doesnt run wel at tis point i just want it to drive under its own power

 

umm can you borrow someones injectors? swap yours out and put there's in maybe you did wiring on injectors wrong?

thats what happens when you put a LSJ TB on a 2.2/2.4 without rewiring the harness. I dont suppose you did that?

 

nope.. stock 2.2 TB only thing was done to the harness is wired the 42 lb pigtails in place of the stock 24lb injectors.. it's freaking driving me nuts I thought somehow I spliced the power wire for the TB into a power for an injector so it was getting that somehow but i didn't ..

i have never heard of such a thing...but if the wiring is good...i would say check the TB and make sure its hooked up correctly and that its not stuck open.

 

oh and it's not a tune issue.. we tried it with the stock tune.. as well as the new tune.. both have the issue.. tb doens't look like it's stuck open i'm really at a loss here


hes checking the harness tomorrow I was going to do it but i might have to work.. he gets out at 3 I get out at 630 if i have to work

 

hey check the mass air sensor...that could be your problem

another thing it could be...is the idle control valve....is it in the TB? i dont know?

 

thats the thing i don't get.. we cheacked the maf sensor.. it's the right way.. it's clean

he didn't mess with the TB prior to me installing things and I didn't mess with it at all either i thought about that though.. it's really pissing me off.. hows your car running thouhg silent?

 

our cars dont have an idle control valve. our idle is controlled directly by our TB blade

did you do any intake work too?
maybe a vacuum leak somewhere post TB?
take off the intake, and start the car (you'll throw a MAF code im sure), but watch the TB and see if it is open or if its mostly closed, like it should be

 

my car is running great...but lately ive been dealing with a dead battery every morning. i finally tackled it yesterday. i think i found the problem but i guess ill find out when i go out and start it and see if it starts or not

well we have the intake off now so when we put in the injectors again i'll look at it see what it's doing .. hopefully it's just something stupid

do we have a throttle position sensor? when i had a mustang mine went up and everytime id go to start it jumped right to 4k

 

i dunno i think we do ... but i dunno where it is lol it could be on the gas pedal though lol so if something was knocked out of place it could screw things up lol

 

the TB has 2 throttle position sensors on board. one goes 0-5V as the throttle opens, and the other goes 5-0V as the throttle opens

 

well is the car throwing any codes at all?

 

i bet you a wire is touching the TB
happened with our 200sx, the car would rev uncontrollably when turned on because the battery wire was touching the TB

when we put the stck injectord in it was fine..... 42s it revs we witched the wiring around and itg stil does it

what are you talking about with the wre touching the tb

 

You probably didn't get the injectors seated properly and air is getting in there. You would be able to tell by spraying carb cleaner around them when the engine is running.

 

if changing the injectors fixes the issue, then ignore me.
at first it sounded like an exposed wire touching the TB
