? bout the CA header...

i just received my header from CA and i really like the way it looks but i have a couple of questions im hoping you guys could help me with...

1. Would header wrap be a good idea?

2. The header came with an o2 sensor bung in the collecter... on my 2.2 both the o2s are in the dp. this leaves a hole in my exhaust. Would it be better to put a pipe plug in the one where the collecter is or replace the one where my upstream o2 is and put the pipe plug in the dp...? would there be a difference if the o2 was moved to where the pipes collect? or will i have a check engine light from moving it?

your first o2 sensor should be in the manifold not the cat pipe

are you saying to change where it is now and put it in the collector of the nw header and put an o2 bung plug in my downpipe? or are you saying that it is now in the mani, before the swap? i was confused by what you typed....

its in the manifold stock, the 2nd one is after the cat, sorry i wasn't to clear about that.

as for header wrap, i wouldn't waste your time it will keep engine bay temps a little lower, but it'll degrade the header faster.

Yes as stated before the factory o2 sensor is held by the factory manifold. The 2nd is after the cat so no need to plug any holes because you shouldn't have any. And I read somewhere that if you put wrap on the CA header it voids its warrenty possibly causing cracks. Not sure where I read that but I know I did lol.

here's a good ca header question... the first one listed on ca site says that it will not fit the 2.2 with out some mods to it.. what has to to be done to make it fit or what stops it from fittin? i have the opertunity to get one of these at a great deal so i would like to make it work..

it would touch up against a coolant line. u had to turn it or move it ever so slightly.

Alot of places won't warranty a header that has been wrapped. If you want to keep temps down under the hood, get the header coated.

Really? That sucks then for you 07 owners and I'd imagine 08 as well.

i am in the middle of installing the header right now.. so far i have had to grind off both the lower corners of the flange to get the header around all the thingsd on the back of the block. i have all the bolts tight and it is now resting on the coolant pipe running along the back causing the seals to seep coolant from both ends. i now have to try to see what i can do to stop this thing from leaking. thinkin bout trying to turn or bend the pipe without hurting anything so i can drive it home...

ok i know this was quick but the first thing i tried was rotating the pipe to get some space. i bent the tab on the driver's end of the pipe and just simply rotated the pipe with my hand and now i have allmost a 1/4in of clearence between the header and pipe. so its official... with a little work the header does fit

thanks guys! i really like what it did to my car performance wise but there are a few things i want to share. after the install i drove around town to get the feel of my new performance mod and it was a well and good. so i had my fun and went home. (slept like a baby) got up the next morning to go and get a pizza and i now have an exhaust leak. im in college right now(its monday night) and i pulled my car in and found that almost every bolt on the header flange was loose. and i dont mean a little. and on top of that the ceramic coating on the header is coming off, which i dont think is a big deal cause it is stainless anyway but it still sucks.... has anyone else had a problem with the bolt coming loose?
