which brake pads

my car now has 26,000 miles on it and im noticing that when braking my steering wheel vibrates and that the car is having more difficulty coming to a stop from speeds 60mph+. i know my tires are fine, and my alignment is most likely fine too. im guessing i may need new brake pads (havent had them changed yet) or maybe a brake job. if i were to buy new pads, i would want pads that offered higher performance than OEM. ive been looking at hawk hp plus, but im not sure how well they work and how they feel. can someone give me a couple of reviews and/or suggestions on which pads would be best performance wise?

The vibration is going to be from the rotors. They've likely warped and the lateral runout is out of spec. As far as hawk pads, I've heard nothing but good about them.

your rotors are warped for like the third time.

i've had great fortune torturing these ebc rotors and hawk hps pads. not a bad combo for dd/street use.

I have EBC slotted/dimpled rotors with green stuff pads, about 10,000 miles old and they're working great for me.

i have the r1 concepts drilled and slotted rotors and hawk hps pads and i love them. they stop on a dime and have zero noise. and the rotors are only 99 for the set.
