Break in a Cat or not?
Break in a Cat or not?
okay When putting on an exhaust dont you have to break in the catalytic converter? I was told when I got my new dp that I had to go 500 miles without getting on the gas too hard so the cat wouldnt get burnt up/ ruined... is this true?
i always break in a new cat. is it necessary? don't know. but i've never had one go bad. seems to be a lot of people on here that complain about their cats going, so in my eyes it's worth it to take it easy for a while.
well, i havent personally burnt up a cat but when u do exhaust work the oil from your hands burns up when ur car gets hot and produces white smoke/steam. i would just wait till that clears and you dont smell tht strange smell anymore and then get on it
