CA V1 header on 2005 HELP PLEASE!!!!

Has anyone tried to install the CA header on their car? I cant get mine to fit because of (what i think is) the thermostat housing/lines that come off it. The flywheel side has an assembly that i cannot get it over. Can anyone help?

isn't that the reason why there is a CA v2?

Yes it is, the first model CA made does not fit the 2.2 unless you modify the coolant line or dent in the header where it hits as others have done. But I don't recomend the second method.

I'd get the V2 if only the collector was not 2.8"
That's for the SC cobalts and not really for a N/A 2.2 cobalt where it would throw your powerband too far up

i got the v1 and all i had to do is bend the tab on the water pipe on the back and simply grabed it and turned it till it no longer hit the header, i also had to cut off both lower corners in order to get it to fit on my 07. well worth saving the 100 difference between the v1 and v2 imo

i ran a 15.7 stock, from factory

THE 2006 AND NEWER LINES ARE DIFFERENT THAN 2005, THATS WHY IT WONT WORK FOR ME... MAYBE I SHOULD RETURN IT AND GET MY MONEY BACK OR CREDIT FOR OTHER ITEMS?

yeah i did. i was trying to install it and the more i tightened the header nuts the more it leaked. so i got on line at the shop i work at and did some searching and found 2 options. dent the pipe or rotate it. and i didnt feel like hitting a thin alumium pipe with a hammer so i choose to rotate it. works well and is very responsive in the top end, i love it!

have you seen the price difference? hahaha plus the collector was too big for what i wanted for my balt. the v1 was just what i was looking for and it was the right price too! im not worried about modding things to make them fit, i have a full shop stacked with tools at my disposal. if it takes a little more work to get something to fit... i dont mind taking the extra time to do it.

i figured the V2 for "header without sai"... well i didnt know if that meant a 2.2 with it that will delete sai so i didnt want to buy it. im gonna try to get the v2 now but my 05 pipe is different than that picture pipe. it has a big thing that bolts onto it right below the last cylinder on the fly side. 05s are different than the others.... ppl need to realize this b4 sayin anything else bout denting **** or fitment
