CAI or Short-Ram?

I'm looking for an intake.

Should I go full CAI or just a short one?

and why?

Go short ram. Reason being your filter will never get wet and cause problems. I had a K&N before I went supercharged and I loved it.

I had a injen cai. never had issues with it getting wet. im running the LT bumper with fog light holes but no fogs in there. still never had issues with the filter getting wet... i liked the sound of the CAI over SRI anyways

What ever is cheaper? Some people say one is better than the other but its never anything worth debating about. If you get a CAI, probably should invest in a hydro shield, I have one with my injen in a CAI configuration.

what do you mean? you like it quieter? i always thought SRI was much louder, i just bought a K&N intake and i believe it comes with an extension to CAI pipe, if not ill just make one to try it out, id MUCH rather have an open ended filter and just run a pipe to the lower bumper rather than have the actual filter down there.

I plan on doing an SRI delete.

The air flow coming from the LT bumper on that side seems like enough to go with short-ram I would think.

I have the k&n typhoon SRI and its pretty loud...not sure how a cai would be loud since its all the way in the bottom where the bumper is at

Get the injen intake. It's both a cai and short ram. Best of both worlds.

I have the injen CAI but before I installed it as a CAI, i ran it as a SRI. SRI seemed more responsive initially but on longer drives it gets more sluggish (heat soak i think is what causes this). CAI seems to start a tiny bit more sluggish than SRI but does way better on longer drives, especially highway. I don't know if everybody has this experience but that what it feels like to me. as far as sound goes, I think my exhaust overshadows it cause I haven't heard any change other than maybe making my exhaust even louder lol that could just be me though.

That just how I feel. It seems to pull smoother and has a better drivability. I actually got rid of the lower half the intake last month.

I got an Injen with a hydro sheild. I ran it as a cai for alomst 2 years and no issues. I just switched it to Ram air in oct because i got a ram air hood. Both sound the same to me, but i would say ram air gives a lil more kick at higher rpms, But that could be due to my hood aswell.

just buy an injen CAI, it has the option to be CAI or SRI and it's about the same price as a K&N SRI or the GMPP SRI.
